II. Thesis Statement: Firefighters have been and will always be an essential part of American society as seen in firefighter’s rich history, the equipment they use, and the affected response time.

III. Topic Sentence #1: Firefighters have always been a big help to the society based on their history later in the past.- Evidence #1: George Washington brought the 1st fire engine to America from England in 1765.- Evidence #2: In the year of 2001 fire departments of the US responded to 1,734,500 fires.

IV: Topic Sentence #2: If there were not firefighters the world would a much more dangerous place to be because fires would not be able to be controlled.- Evidence #1: Each fire truck has a tank of water that holds up to 3,000 gallons of water for when they out of reach of a fire hydrate.- Evidence #2: Firefighters first learn first aid to provide on the spot emergency care. 

V: Topic Sentence #3: Firefighters must learn lots of different skills in order to do the job the right way for example reading blueprints making sure the building is clear before put the fire out.- Evidence #1: A firefighter has too train

for 3-4 months in order to perform the task when they are fighting fire.

VI: Topic Sentence #4: The fire stations equipment is the main reason why they can put fires out so quickly.- Evidence #1: The equipment they use cost a lot but it’s worth saving tons of lives every year.- Evidence #2: They use equipment such as ladders, hoses, and axes.

VII: Topic Sentence #5: Firefighters are extremely efficient in their response time.- Evidence #1: The main reason they get their so quick is because of the sirens and lights to let people to move out of the way.- Evidence #2: Another reason is because the captain knows different routes that are quicker than some.
