BARACK OBAMA
Barack Obama
Mitt Romney
President Obama doesn’t want to raise taxes on the
middle class, but would raise taxes on the wealthy.
He would seek to extend the Bush-era tax cuts for those earning less than $200,000 individually and $250,000 if married.
Mitt Romney disagreed with Obama
Romney wants to extend the cuts for all income levels, including those above $250,000.
Obama wants to reform the corporate tax code. This reform
would slash the corporate tax rate to
28%.
Payroll tax extension
Mitt Romney wants to cut taxes, with a move that would reduce the current top rate paid on income from 35% to 28%, with similar reductions across all tax brackets.
Romney says the tax cuts will spur economic growth, and that will fill in some of the revenue
gap.
Both candidates agree in the creation of more employments, and in helping the new businessmen in the creation of small companies, since they are the engine of the economy.
