Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj College of Engineering, Shegaon (SSGMCE) was established

in 1983 by Shri. Gajanan Shiskhan Sanstha, Shegaon. It is affiliated to Sant Gadge Baba

Amravati University, Amravati and recognized by AICTE, New Delhi. SSGMCE has

recognition to be an accredited institute by NBA, New Delhi & NAAC, Bangalore. The

Institution is selected as Network Institute under NPIU’s TEQIP, MHRD, Govt. of India.

For more than 29 years, it has successfully nurtured young Indians in engineering and

managerial professionals for the betterment of society and humanity as a whole. The institute has

become the first private engineering college to acquire “Autonomous Status” in SGB Amravati

University. The institute is implementing autonomy in progressive manner from the academic

year 2013-14.

In 21st century the college shifted its focus on consolidating its strength and quality

orientation which has aptly been rewarded. It obtained permanent affiliation from SGBAU

(2001) and UGC recognition under 2f (1999) and 12b (2003). It is the first self-financed

engineering college in Vidarbha and only second after VNIT, Nagpur amongst all colleges of the

region to have obtained Accreditation from National Board of Accreditation - NBA in 2001 for

its three B.E. programme also the institutional Accreditation from NAAC (National Assessment

and Accreditation Council) in B+ grade in 2003 and reaccredited in 2010 for five years.

The institute is well known for its visionary management, dedicated and devoted faculty,

state of art infrastructure and discipline. It is also known for all round development of student’s

personality with distinct value based spiritual environment. The institute provides facilities for

the pursuit of excellence and academically suitable climate of the scholarship in terms of

curriculum and curricular performance of students. The Management of the institute has

provided adequate resources to meet the requirements of an Autonomous College.

It was initially started with three degree courses i.e. B.E. Electrical Power System

Engineering, Electronics Engineering and Industrial Electronics Engineering having 60 intakes

each. Subsequently, it started B.E. Computer Sciences and engineering in 1985 with an intake of

Telecommunication Engineering & in 1993 and in 1994 two courses namely B.E. in Mechanical

Engineering and Master of Business Administration added respectively. Afterwards, the courses

namely, M.E. in Electrical Power System (1996) with an intake of 18, M.E. in Digital

Electronics (1998) with an intake of 30, B.E. in Information Technology (2001) with an intake of

60, M.E. in Computer Engineering (2012) with an intake of 18 and M.E. in Advanced

Manufacturing and Mechanical Systems Design (2012) with an intake 24 stared in SSGMCE. All

these courses were approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi.

.SSGMCE offers 5 undergraduate engineering courses and 5 post graduate courses. All

the laboratories have been recognized as center for Ph.D programme. SSGMCE has excellent

physical facilities in the form of residential and academic buildings, library, laboratories,

equipments, gymkhana, sports, hostels, etc. of its own spread over neat and clean 80 acres

campus. It also provides the administrative set up and the pattern of governance involving the

faculty members who are conducive to academic innovations and development. SSGMCE

promote healthy practices such as community service, extension activities and projects for the

benefit of the society at large. Our SSGMCE is considered as one of the best in the region and it

holds the strength to be accountable for the content and quality of education.

SSGMCE has its own vision and mission to steer the institute to become one of the best

institute in the region. Due to globalization, technology is changing rapidly and to cope up with

the rapid changes SSGMCE has its own dedicated research center which contains state of the art

set up with VLSI and Embedded system design center (CADENCE & XILINX equipped), Sant

Gajanan Tool room (Advanced VMC & CNC machines), CAD/CAM and CFD center, SAP-ERP

center, Data Centre, Electrical Power Research Lab, IP Cell, Multimedia Unit, and

Entrepreneurship Development Cell by DST, Govt. of India also Ministry of Micro, Small and

medium enterprises, Govt. of India has sanctioned a scheme titillated “Financial assistance for

entrepreneurial development” .

SSGMCE is recognized as Scientific and Industrial Research Organization by DSIR,

Govt. of India. It has established Solar Radiation Monitoring Centre by CWET, Chennai,

MNRE Govt. of India, Specially designed Energy Storage Bank tested by CPRI, Bangalore &

ERTL Mumbai having its own solar research center and its Solar Energy Products are approved

by MNRE, Govt. of India and used by various sections of the society. It has its own PV cell

design, development and module assembling unit.

The institution pursues high standards as reflected in its consistently good placement

record and performance of students at the University examinations. The institute has its unique

Central Library having 28120 titles, 80224 books, 2005 electronic information collection, 6364

bound volumes/projects and large subscription of international, national journals with 502 online

access journals with a total expenditure worth of Rs. 2.34 Corers.

The institute has academic collaborations with De Montfort University, Leicester, UK

and many MOU’s are signed with Industry partners like Ador Welding, Scientech Ltd., OASIS,

ORACLE, MSME-DI, Legrant India Pvt. Ltd Hindustan Unilever Ltd., Vardhan Sintex etc., for

Technology Transfer, Project Work, Training Courses and for Summer Internship Project.

In all 1981 students are on roll for the session 2012-2013 with 797 girls students. All the

students and their legal guardian (Father Or Mother) are insured under “Amartya Shiksha Yojana

Insurance policy and Students accident insurance” (Only Accidental Death) in which amount of

Rs.1,00,000/- is covered. In case of accidental death of legal guardian the insurance company

shall pay the remaining year’s tuitions fees along with Hostel, Library and University

Examination fees to the claimant.

The institute is having well equipped Central Administrative Office which covers all the

administrative work of all the students and faculty. The admissions and keeping the record of all

the students and faculty is well maintained in the Administrative office. Institute sponsored

Scholarship, Merit Scholarship, GATE Scholarship and Donor’s Scholarship with various

Government Caste quotas Scholarship and Free ship are also served through the administrative

office. Every year students of SSGMCE excels in University examinations, Intercollegiate

Technical events, Sports and Co-curricular activities. Students of SSGMCE participate in all

those events with zeal and enthusiasm with a remarkable performance.

This year the results of the department were very good especially the best of the results

came from the newly started PG course, ME (CE). The result of this course for the W-2012

exam is 61.2%, the best among all the PG branches.

The final year results are keeping its momentum and continued good and is 77.6%. Ms

Priyanka Gurbani stood 2nd

in merit and Ms Neeta Salampuria in 10th

position in merit. Results

of the second year and third year result are also very good and are 83.7% and 84.62%

respectively.

From the final year Mr. TP Sai Krishna, Mr. Kunal Raipurkar, Ms. Kavita Bhatkar, Mr.

Amol Gaikwad qualified in GATE-13 exams and Mr. Udit Mahajan passed in CAT-71 Score,

CMAT-260 Score and XAT exams with 93%.

The departmental organization CSESA held many activities and shouldered the

responsibility of fulfilling the students’ demand by conducting the workshops on topics like

ANDROID, Pinnacle, and Video Editing etc.

The department has tied up with Indian Institute of Bombay, Mumbai by holding an online

workshop on ANDROID using AKASH-II and this workshop got overwhelming response from

the students.

As a part of the community development service, the department has also conducted a

workshop for the B.Sc. (Computer Science) students from Jagdamba Mahavidyalaya, Achalpur

and made aware them the applications of topics in Computer Science & Engineering like DSP /

Graphics / Web Engineering.

Mr Bhusan Kedia, Tech Mahindra, Pune delivered an expert lecture on Software

Enginnering for Final students.

Our PG students have also published papers in National Conferences in 2013 held at SBSS

College of Engineering, Khatkeda

Ku. Priyanka Khadtare published paper in students national paper contest held at Bapurao

Deshmukh College of Engineering at Wardha.

This year 29 students of final year students got placement in a very reputed software

company, Tata Consultancy Services, Pune.

Our faculty members have published papers in international and national conferences.

Prof. D. R. Dhotre published a paper in national conference at SGGSIT, Nanded

Prof. V. S. Mahalle published a paper in national conference at PRMIT, Badnera and in

International conference held at SBSS, Khatkeda which was selected for the International

Journal.

Prof. S. V. Paranjape and Prof. Dhotre have delivered expert lectures on Image

Processing in MATLAB at GS College of Science, Khamgaon on two different

occasions.

Prof. P. A. Lohe has published paper in International Journal, IJESIT, in Jan 2013

Prof. Dr. K. B. Khanchandani is working as a Head of Department of electronics and

Telecommunication. This department has total 24 professors.

Our Long Range Goals:

To fully develop the Department, as a part of an Institution of repute and standard at

On 26th

Oct. 2012, Dr. Rajkamal of Devi Ahilya University, Indore delivered lecture on

Real Time Operation Systems and Embedded Systems. The total 27 PG students of M.E.

(Digital Electronics) and staff attended the lecture. The topic of lecture was part of

Syllabus of Embedded System Design of M.E. (Digital Electronics) course. The co-

ordinator of this event was Prof. U. A. Rane.

WORKSHOPS IN EXTC DEPARTMENT:-

1. PCB Design Workshop:-

EXTC department conducted the PCB Design Workshop for the 2nd

year students of

EXTC Department. It was held during 3rd

- 10th Oct 2012. Total 43 students enrolled and

successfully completed the workshop. The co-ordinator of this workshop was Prof. Pravin R.

Wankhede.

2. Microwaves Communication:-

The Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering conducted short term

training program on “UHF & MICROWAVES” on 04th Jan, 2013 at SSGMCE,

Shegaon. Hands on training in UHF and Microwave were also provided through interactive

practical sessions. The organiser of this workshop was Dr. Mrs. V. V. Gohokar and

Prof. V. V. Ratnaparkhi. Total 18 faculty and students enrolled and successfully completed

workshop.

INDUSTRIAL TOUR :- The 123 students from 3rd year B.E. had participated in the Industrial Tour to Scientech

Technology Pvt. Ltd. Indore on 15/02/2013 & 16/02/2013.

ACHIEVEMENTS IN SESSION 2012-13 :-

Mr. Ankit D. Yawale student of 3rd year B.E. got first prize in event ‘Pick & Place Robot’ at

Tech Fest, IIT Mumbai during 3-5 Jan 2013.

Mr. Arjun Patodiya (4U1) represents the college team of TABLE TENNIS (Men’s) on

University level.

Mr. Shashank Zade (4U2) Winner of University chess competition held at K.L.College,

Amvarati.

In this way the EXTC department had shown its progress in a very short time.

The Department was established in the year 1983-84. This department has 11 teaching and

6 non-teaching staff. Out of the 11 teaching faculty, two are Ph.D holder, four are M.Phil. And

others are M.Sc., B.Ed. and M.B.A. respectively. Three faculty members have registered for

Ph.D., out of these, One faculty has submitted Ph.D. thesis in SGB Amravati University,

Amravati in the year 2012. ASH Department has three laboratories for Physics, Chemistry and

English Language Lab.

Prof. Dr. N. A. Patil had been appointed as Registered Ph.D. Supervisor in SGB Amravati

University, Amravati. Prof. R. M. Kharate and Prof. Ms. H. D. Akhare had been felicitated with

Excellence Teaching Award in the year 2012. Also Prof. A. V. Patil is appointed as a college

Registrar from July-2012 onwards.

Faculty members of our department also engage themselves successfully in organizing

various extracurricular activities. Such as NSS, NBA, NAAC, ISO, ISTE, Alumni Meet,

Cultural activities, Sports,Tattwadarshi-College Magazine, Science World, Guest Lectures,

Workshops, Spiritual activities, etc. at college level. Prof. Dr. N. A. Patil, head as a NBA

coordinator, Dr. J. S. Bakare looks after Tattwadarshi College Magazine, Prof. S. V. Yenkar look

after Community Development and Extension Services as a Chief coordinator. Prof. R. M.

Kharate looks after the Hostels (Boys & Girls) as Chief Warden. Prof. A. S. Alane and Prof. Ms.

S.S. Atthawale look after NSS as a Program Officer. Prof. A. S. Alane and Prof. N. S. Thakare

conduct various events under the head of Science world. Prof. R.K. Dhanuka looks after CDES

activity. Prof. N. S. Thakare also looks after organizing various spiritual events/lecture at

college level.

Many faculties have taken active participation and had presented research work in

workshop and conferences in their respective fields organized at National level across the

countries.

In academic year 2012-13 Prof. Dr. N. A. Patil (14), Dr. J. S. Bakare (1) and Prof. R. M.

Kharate (3) have presented 19 research papers at various National & International conferences.

In this academic year Department is going to organize two days National Conference on

Mathematics (RAMASE-2013) during 29th – 30

th April 2013.

We have extreme pleasure to announce that we have maintained the record of excellent

academic result from last 3 years and ranked second top most in first and second semester among

all the engineering colleges under SGBAU Amravati with average result of 58.48% for first

semester winter 2012 exam. The SGPA score of our 6 students is above than 9.00, with highest

score gained by Ms. Priyanka Gajanan Bawane is 9.36. As such 12 students have scored

distinction; the highest score is gained by Ghanshyam Kamalkishor Tawari, who stood first with

81.66%. With reference to the letter received on 25th April 2012, for the year 2010-11 from

Amravati university, our college Magazine – Tattwadarshi had received 2nd

prize (Rs.2000/-) in

inter-college "Annual College Magazine Competition".

In last academic year 2011-12, the academic result for first and second semester was

70.05% and 67.62% respectively with the highest percentage for both the semester was gained

by our student Brajesh Kumar (81.41%) who stood first with the SGPA score 9.35 in Amravati

University. Six First Year students from our college have presented paper in their respective

field at an event "Spandan" organized by Nagpur University. Out of these, one group got a first

prize.

Our students are actively engaged in various sport activity organized at college and inter

college level. Our first year student Sankalp Gujar (1U) was selected as "Color Holder" in Chess

Competition whereas 6 students from first year stood as Runner-UP in Basket-Ball Competition

organized by SGB Amravati University, Amravati.

From the first year of engineering we aspire to develop scientific and technical attitude

among students for their bright future. So every year 28th

February is celebrated as National

Science Day with the event like Debate competition, story Telling, poster and project exhibition.

Guest lectures are organized to bring about the overall personality development of the students

and also to create awareness and importance about our mother nature. Students are motivated

with proper guidance and winners are praised with prizes and certificates. All the students take

active part in all the events.

All the teaching and non-teaching staff members from our department take active part in

organizing all these events successfully and hence contribute their best in teaching learning

process and growth of our institution with their hard work and strong dedication.

in our department and elsewhere. This led the department to getting ranked under A-

Grade consecutively for third year by Business India Best B-Schools Survey 2012.

This year Khamgaon Urban Cooperative bank Ltd., Khamgaon sponsored Parishkriti

2013 to commemorate their golden jubilee

year. with sponsor money of Rs. 50,000.

The response this year was huge by

attracting 150 outside students’

participants and it was held for three-days

including twelve competitions. The theme

of this year’s Parishkriti was “Save Girl

Child”. Faculty members have been

awarded incentives for their publication in

international journal and three of them were felicitated with teaching excellence award.

The placement of students is also picking up gradually. Our alumni working in Axis

bank Ltd. and Bajaj Finserve conducted campus recruitment of our students along with

their senior executives and picked up students for final placements in their respective

organizations. Our college awarded 19 students of the department with prizes /

scholarships under different categories out of donors’ sponsorship amount and also

college prizes.

Library is a social institution charged with the most enviable function of dispensing

knowledge to the ignorant informed alike. “Vidya - dan “i.e. imparting of knowledge has been

considered as the most sacred task. The main function of the library is the collection and

preservation of knowledge for its dissemination & future generation. Its conservation is also an

important duty of the library. Now a days libraries are using information and communication technologies (ICT) such as

Barcodes, e-commerce, and e-journals, CD-ROMs. In the present scenario much of

communication link between library and its users is based on LAN and the Internet instead of

personal contact. Due to this communication link our college library is giving more emphasis on

E-information collection, E-information based services and enabling information technologies.

Due to globalization our library is sharing information with DELNET, 4 Million bibliographic

records of books, articles and journals, statistics related to India on www.indiastat.org, Online

access to journals OF The IEEE – ASPP, Science Direct, ASME, ASTM Digital Library, Mc-

GRAW Hill Online access Engineering, EBSCO – business Sources e-journal Collection, Online

access to full ACM digital library and access to 1100

e-books of ACM, 300 e-books on IEEE Computer Society, www.computer.org , Photocopying,

lamination and comb binding machines are installed in the reprographic section at the left side of

ground floor of the library. Besides each department has their own library with latest books and

journals.

The library is open from 8 am to 8 pm on week days and is open from 10 am to 5 pm on

Sant Gajanan Tool Room (SGTR) is one of the pioneer techno-invention centre

established in the year June 2007 under the banner of SSGMCE, Shegaon. SGTR mainly aimed

at promoting purposeful skill oriented technical education for the youth in India. The center

implements its program of technical training through its training centre & on job training in the

production centre. The institute offers various courses to cover a wide spectrum of technical

manpower at post graduate level, degree level, diploma level & certificate level. Besides above

number of short term courses in the specialized area of design & CNC machining as well as

tailor made modules are designed and conducted to suit customer’s requirement.

Training: - Centre completely equipped with the conventional & advance CNC machines

offers scientifically designed long term, medium term & short term training courses in the

field of CNC technology for various stack holders. Till date, nearly 2400 students have

passed out from SGTR after taking CNC operating and programming training out of which

2150 students are working as a CNC operator in various industries of Maharashtra state.

personal interview to coordinate various activities undertaken by T&P Dept.

3) T&P Dept has conducted the MOCK Aptitude Test-I for 2012-13 batch students for

preparation of TCS campus drive on 16th July 2012.

4) T&P Dept has conducted the MOCK Aptitude Test-II for 2012-13 batch students for

preparation of TCS campus drive on 19th July 2012.

5) T&P Dept. has conducted the series of MOCK Aptitude Test in assistance with various

Aims of NCC

To develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of

adventure and the ideals of selfless service amongst the youth of the country.

To create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth, to provide

Various students were successful in the different competition organized by university

sports Department for the session 2012-2013 and also in the Inter-University competitions.

A] Inter-university sports competition sports and winner

This year, in Amravati university chess competition, the college team secured the first

position.

In Amravati university basketball competition, the girls Team Secured second place.

Ku.Prajakta Rathod , a student of our college has won gold, silver and bronze medals in

high jump, hurdles and long jump respectively in Inter-University athletics.

Mr. Ankit Borkar won a silver medal in 100m running.

The college Football team has won the 1st runner’s-up in the Open University

competition organized in Wardha.

Mr. Mayur Zhamre won bronze medal in the 110m hurdle race at the university level.

Mr. Sanath Choudhary won silver medal in university boxing championship.

C] Competitions Organized by the college

This year the college, under Amravati University organized Inter-University Cricket,

Football, Badminton, Chess and Volleyball competition.

The college organized a state level women’s and men’s badminton competition on 15th

and 16th

December, 2012. In this competition, a newly constructed wooden court was

used and Ex-Olympians Mr. Nikhil Kanetkar and Mr. Pradip Gandhe were the chief

guests for the occasion. Cash prize of Rs. 30000 were given.

The college celebrated National Youth Day on 12th

January on the account of the birth

anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. In this event, foot procession, youth

enlightenment,‘Mahaprasad’ were also organized in which nearly 7000 people took the

Mahaprasad. Honorable Managing Director Shri. Shrikant Dada Patil and Principal Dr.

V.N. Gohokar showed their enthusiasm and extended their cooperation for these events.

In the academic session 2012-13, Mr. Kapil Kuldhariya and Miss. Shweta Dixit were

College has running yoga center under the name of Patanjali from last Eleven years. Every

year, college used to conduct yoga classes for boys and girls separately. Course is so designed

that it contains yogic practices for a person of average health. The more focus is given on the

basic principles of yogic practices, time and sequence, combination with other exercises and

exercises for females.

This year also yoga class has been conducted for B.E. First year boys students on 05, 06

& 07 March 2013 by Prof. R. M. Kharate in the prayer hall of S.V. Hostel. From this class, 41

students got benefited and learnt so many things that are required to maintain good physical and

mental health. Similarly, yoga class has been conducted for girls of B.E. Second to Final year,

during 25 July to 27 July 2012 and for B.E. First year, during 12 to 14 March 2013 by Mrs. S. S.

Gachake in the prayer hall of S.M.-I Hostel. From this class, total 96 girls got benefited.

The SSGMCE Alumni Association Cell is registered with the Charity Commissioner,

Buldhana and the Registration number is F-10852.This cell is established with the aim to

strengthen the bonds between the Alumni and the institute. This provides the forum to the

experience and contacts for all around development of the institute.

The CDES programme has been conducted by ASH Department on the topics

“Application Based uses of Basic Sciences and Humanities” during 3rd

– 6th December 2012, in

Training Centre.

The aim of programme was to provide a platform to students, where they can learn new

skills & can achieve expertise. By this programme, students got an opportunity to get technical

expertise & they could build confidence. Their ideology & mindset has been changed & their

lookout is transformed with a better perspective towards changing competitive world.

School, RMIG Municipal High School participated in this programme. Total 44 students of IXth

class from these schools have been benefited by this programme. They got the practical exposure

about basic sciences & its use in their day to day life. Certificates have been distributed to all

participants by Hon’ble Principal sir, Head of Dept, and Registrar.

CDES Programme – IT Department

The CDES programme has been conducted by IT Department on the topics “VB Dot Net”

for ITI students during 5th

– 8th December 2012.

The programme was inaugurated by Chief Coordinator CDES Prof. S. V. Yenkar & Head

of the department Dr. S. S. Prabhune; followed by Saraswati Vandana & Dip Prajawalan. Our

experts Prof. N. N. Kasliwal, Prof. A. S. Awate, Prof. S. R. Nikhale, Prof. G. L. Agrawal, Prof.

Ms. S. K. Yawale had delivered the lectures based on above topic. They taught the students

about the theoretical concepts as well as practical on Approaching ‘ASP. NET’ and its

fundamental working with control, working with code & forms variables and procedures,

controlling program execution, Debugging of programme. Technical support was provided by

Mr. S. S. Pawar, Mr. G. V. Hantode, Mr. M. H. Burande; the staff of IT dept.

The20 students from ITI, Shegaon and 15 students from ITI Khamgaon have been

benefited by this programme. Certificates have been distributed to all participants.

Chief Coordinator

Student's council SSGMCE works to listen for the grievances and suggestions of

students. It acts as a bridge between students and authorities. This body flourishes under the

guidance of Prof. V.S.MAHALLE as its faculty advisor. The committee was formed in the start

of the session with 85 student members all over the college including at least 2 members from

each class to ensure uniformity. The chairpersons from each student's chapter is also made the

part of student's council to get ideas of every field.

Student's council Submitted the proposal of “SARATHI” , the Fresher’s day celebration &

Farewell ceremony which was sanctioned by the authority. For Fresher’s day a meeting of CR &

NCR of first year & second year B.E. students was arranged on Tuesday, September 25, 2012.

The Ignited Innovators of India, movement organized by BHAU institute of Innovation,

Entrepreneurship and Leadership [BIEL] invited students from our college to present their

project. The groups names were sent to the institute by student's council, out of which 12 groups

were selected. The groups needed help to do field work in certain nearby villages. The

committee helped them in seeking the permission to go to the place for performing the field work

and also guided the students on how to proceed with the project. There were several meetings

conducted of the selected groups with students’ council in order to solve their problems

regarding project. Out of all the groups presented in BHAU, one of the projects was selected as

best project.

Two students of 3rd

year requested to put their robot in college which was a winning

robot in E-YANTRA competition, students’ council helped them to get NOC and all the other

required documents from the college.

Student's council organized a meeting of students with dean academic Prof. S.B. Somani

on 8th December 2012 for discussing various academic issues. The meeting was attended by 57

students. Various submissions were given by the students in the meeting and the report of

meeting is submitted to authority.

A meeting of students’ council members was conducted regarding the discussion about

autonomy committee. In this meeting the faculty informed about the need of autonomy and the

advantages of autonomy. Students’ council organized a meeting of students with the team

members of accreditation and autonomy committee.

The counseling records of second year students of every department has been issued by

the students’ council and handed over to respective departments.

Electrical Engineering Students Association is a technical society of electrical students

(SSGMCE, Shegaon) the key objective of EESA is to provide a continuous professional

development program to the members of the society it provides a continuous professional

development program for SSGMCE.

Aims And Objectives:

To further the knowledge and awareness in the field of Electricity & Engineering through

the meetings, discussions, Quizzes and like.

To create a spirit of brotherhood & co-operation among the members of the association.

Introductory Session: This session was about introduction of our new EESA team to our new members. The

presentation was given on the importance of EESA. Its advantages, its activities and post

structure along with the video.

Gaming Event: This Event was conducted for second year ELPO to boost up there interest and was biased

on General Knowledge, word games, Technical Questions, one minute show and etc…All

students enjoyed it and very large response was there.

Teachers Day Celebration: In this event, we celebrated a event for lecturers of Electrical Dept. In this event, there

“Think Out Of Box”

CSESA is student chapter for the computer science and Engineering students. The main

motto behind such a student chapter is to develop student’s skill and to motivate the others to

develop their skills also. By considering this thought, we kept our tag line as “Think Out Of

Box”. This is a platform for students to nourish and improve their skill and enhance personality

in all ways

For this year, CSESA planned various activities such as Video Editing workshop-

Pinnacle, Basic PC troubleshooting workshop, Short Film Competition, Website designing

competition, Start to Linux and Basics of net etc. Among them Video Editing workshop and

Basic PC troubleshooting workshop are conducted very successfully and received the grand

response from students and short film Competition is going to be conducted. The planned events

will also get conducted soon. Also Mock Aptitude test was conducted for the students, which

1] Aptitude Test & Personal Interview Conduction (04/09/12 & 05/09/12):-

The very first task of newly selected core committee is to add new members from second

year.

So aptitude test & personal interviews were conducted on 04/09/12 & 05/09/12

respectively.

After interview 32 members were finalized as executive members.

The selected core committee conducted the interviews .They asked technical and logical

questions. Their views about ESSA.

The selected members were really devoted towards ESSA in every aspects of work.

It was their effective hard work in coordination with the core committee which bought

such a overwhelmed response from the entire college for each and every event.

2] Mock Aptitude Test for TCS Drive (25/07/12):-

Mock Aptitude test was conducted on 25th July 2012 for final year students of all

branches.

After looking towards the recruitment planning of Tata Consultancy Services at our

campus, ESSA team decided to increase aptitude of the students so that it can help them

during aptitude test of TCS.

Total 171 students participated & the test was of 45 minutes containing 60 questions.

3] One Week Workshop on PCB Design (From 03/10/12 to 10/10/12):-

The Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design Workshop was one of the most successful

workshops in the history of SSGMCE..

Total 45 students of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering branch participated

in this workshop.

Basic Robotics was also taught to the participants.

The Workshop was conducted by Prof. P. R. Wankhede.

Kits were provided to the students which were including soldering guns, soldering stand,

bread boards, batteries, cutters, strippers and wires and basic electronic components.

During the workshop as table multivibrator, amplitude modulator and line follower robot

was taught practically.

The feedback from the students was very positive regarding the workshop.

It was a pleasure to ESSA team to work with Prof. P. R. Wankhade who made this

workshop successful with his hard work.

4] FUNSTUFF FIGHTBACK (27/02/13 to 28/02/13) :-

FUNSTUFF is the yearly gaming event organized by ESSA for entertainment of students

by various outdoor and indoor games.

This year FUNSTUFF was more enjoyable, more powerful &reloaded.

It was a biggest event of SSGMCE this year in which 360 students i.e. 90 teams of 4

members each, participated & made this event grand. There were total 5 games

conducted on those two days in the ground in front of library.

.This year topic of debate was E-Learning is good or bad. Almost all students actively participate in this

3. SCIENTIFIC STORY TELLING: - Scientific Story telling competition was arranged by Science

World on topic of Life of Scientist. Almost all the students actively participated in this competition. The

participants’ are allowed using the LCD, Projector. The event was Judged and evaluated by faculty

members. The winner and runner up students are awarded with certificate and cash prizes.

4. MODEL EXIBITION COMPETITION:-Every year model exhibition competition was arranged

by Science World on topic of science and technology. Almost all the students actively participated in this

competition. The event was Judged and evaluated by faculty members. The winner and runner up

The different events conducted by IEEE Students Branch during the session 2012-13

are

1. Gati-O-Mania It was a 2 phase event which was conducted for 1

st year students. The first phase was

called Chakraview and it consisted 2 Riddles for 4 days and the students who got the highest

marks were selected for the next round which was held on library grounds were a different mix

of technical and non-technical events.

2. Pic-Pro A stall was set up in Crimson Fiera 2012 in which the participants were provided with the

requested pictures and the pictures were edited by augmenting visual effects. The highlight of

this event was the presence of the Principal & Madam. 3. Interview The interview of 2

nd yr and 3

rd year students was conducted and the team was

formed.

4. Key Passing An informal ceremony where the former IEEE Chairperson passes his crown

(keys) to the new Chairperson in the presence of all the IEEE members.

5. Know Your IEEE It was conducted for the new IEEE members to get them acquainted with all the

features of IEEE which included IEEE explore, IEEE TV, IEEE spectrum, etc.

6. MAD An Arts+Drama+Music competition for the students of Second Year B.E.which

saw an active participation from all.

7. Fun with Photoshop It was conducted by IEEE & CESA to help students reach mastery in Adobe

Photoshop and take a new step towards creativity. It was a 2-day workshop delivered by TPS

Krishna, Vamshi Krishna & Saurabh Ukil.

8. Guild of Orators It is a formation of the students selected by the Group Discussions conducted by IEEE

working team. It’s main motto was to uplift the communication skills and general

understandings. In this formation a group of 14 students was selected out of 60 students.

9. Engineering Extravaganza It consisted of four phases

1. Basics of Computers which dealt with basic troubleshooting of computers and

programming logic.

2. An invigorative lecture by Prof. A.M. Agarkar of Dept. of Electronics and

Telecommunications on Embedded Systems and their advantages.

3. Four day workshop for students of Electrical Engg. On the essentials of Transformers

and Electrical Machines by Ghanshyam Ambekar and Anurag Lulhe.

4. English Extravaganza – A fun filled and excitement packed event organized by IEEE

GUILD OF ORATORS, Which consisted of a 3 day English development workshop

and a competition which saw more than 125 participants.

10. Paper Presentations On behalf of Pursuit Organizing team IEEE organized the Paper Presentation competition

in Pursuit 2013 the National Level Technical Festival Of SSGMCE Shegaon. It saw a

participation of a total of 34 teams.

11. Clash of Titans Clash of Titans aka Class of the year crossed the threshold of the IEEE history where four

best students (Titans) participated from each class and finally a class was crowned as class of the

year after testing them unity, creativity, smartness, etc.

Indian society for technical education students’ chapter SSGMCE Shegaon works for

the technical growth of students in college and even aims the same outside. The team of ISTE

students’ chapter for year 2012-13 was formed by highly experienced delegates on 13th January

2012. The panel decided core committee and executive members of the team. In total 9 core

committee members and 18 executive members were selected on the basis on personal interview.

The first meeting for session was held on 15th January 2012 to decide action plan for the

coming session. The first event organized under ISTE head was “BEST BUDDIES”. This was

based on “learning with fun” concept. A managerial event, team of two best friends, included

two rounds, questions based on judging one’s own best friend and next round included on team

member’s co-ordination. The event received 208 participants.

The second event was introduced for first year students, “C Workshop”. This event

aimed at discussing the concepts of C language with first year students from practical and

Students’ point of view. This was a 2 days workshop including 2 hours per day. An interactive

session full of demonstrations of programs and active participation of 84 students was

recognized.

The third event was a quiz competition under pursuit’13. This brought a new idea of

involving the students from out of college and the students from class 8th

to 12th. The event was

planned to have two rounds, an aptitude test and a on spot quiz. A total of 228 students

participated in the event.

The session ended with a MEMBERSHIP DRIVE proposal for students willing to join

ISTE as its members and be the part of an excellent technical society of the nation.

PURSUIT X3 was inaugurated on 2nd

of Feb 2013 by Hon. Principal Dr. V.N. Gohokar.

It was a kick-start to the grand technical event of the college. A one in its kind and the best so

far. This year’s pursuit included pre-pursuit activities in the form of various workshops.

The pre-pursuit activities:- Robotics workshop: - A workshop on Robotics was held by Bhavsar Electronics,

Khamgaon. This workshop was aimed at the 1st

and 2nd

year students. The forty groups

containing four members in each group from the college and outside took the benefit of

this workshop. This workshop was held on 26 and 27 Feb. 2013.

Android Workshop:-The workshop on Android conducted by the faculty form IIT

Khargpur. The total numbers of participants for the workshop were more than 50 from

the college and outside the college. The dates for the workshop were 31st Jan & 1

st Feb.

Pursuit Activities:-

More than 24 events were organized as the pursuit activities which were held on the 2nd

and 3rd

unconditional support.

The Event of Pursuit-X2 had a total turnover of about Rs.3 lakhs which was highest ever for

our college. Over all the PURSUIT-X3 was biggest event of this year in our institute. The

success of this event was possible due to support of everyone from College, Students, Sponsors

and also our participants who enjoyed the event to make it a splendid success. This event got

huge support from our Hon. Principal Dr. V N Gohokar and also from our Chief Coordinators

Prof. M. B. Bhambere and Prof. P. V. Wankhede. It also greatly benefited from the support of all

Cultural Activities

1. Dahi handi Celebration:

On the auspicious occasion of Gukul Ashtami on 13th

August 2012, all the

students and staff members actively took part in celebrating Dahi Handi. Venue for Dahi

Handi Celebration was in front of Hostel office. The groups amongst students were

formed as per year wise.

2. Selection of General Secretary and Girls Representative of the college for the session

2012-13

As per the trend of every year, this year also the college cultural activity in-

charge formed a staff committee to select the “General Secretary” and “Girls

Representative” of SSGMCE for the session 2012-13.

The committee comprised of expertise people from different fields. The committee took

interviews of various applicants for the post for the general secretary on 08th September

2012 and then gave this college with the best and finest students as:

- General secretary : Mr. TPS Krishna(Final Year CSE)

- Girls representative : Ms. Sonam Wasule (Final Year EXTC)

3. Teacher’s Day Celebration:

As per the tradition, the students of SSGMCE celebrate11111111 the Teacher’s

day as New Concept “Student as Teacher”. The various students acting as teachers and

engages lecture on various topics.

4. Ganesh Festival:

As per every year, this year also the Ganesh Festival was celebrated with zest

and enthusiasm among the students and the staff. Various entertaining events were

5. Participation in Youth Festival 2012:

Every year Sant Gadgebaba Amravati University organizes the inter

collegiate youth festival. This year, it was organized in Dr. Bhausaheb Nandurkar

College of Physical Education, Yavatmal from 02nd

Oct. to 05th

Oct. 2012.

A team of 38 students represented our college in youth festival 2012. These students took

part in various events like Music, Literary Events and Theater Events, Quiz and Fine Arts

and performed at their best and made our college to stand out differently among all the

colleges of the Amravati University.

6. Traditional Day Celebration:

The student cultural council organized 29th January 2013 as a traditional day

for the complete college campus. That day was enjoyed by all the students, teaching

faculty and non teaching staff.

7. Culfest- 2013 :

On 15th

and 16th March 2013, the grand events of SSGMCE were held i.e.

CULFEST. The preparation started week before from the date of culfest and this time we

came up with very new and stunning concept for this annual event. We had variety of

events being organized for students so as to explore their talents and present those in

front of all at very grand scale.
