F.Theme or focus of images

A. This is a photo of a castle looking building in Pedestrian Bridge by Moxon Architects in Taunton, Somerset. It’s outdoors on a sunny day. There’s a huge glass wall which creates a slight reflection of the building on the right hand side, the huge glass wall is the bridge.

B. This is a photo of a Sky building which looks like its been taken around winter time this includes the road out the front of it and all the trees with know leaves on the sky is very grey and is a very similar colour to the building, it all blends very well together.

C. This is the tower bridge house this is a time lapse photo and looks like its been taken around winter time due to what the people are wearing, because it’s a time lapse the cars have been taken where only the light of the headlights has been picked up by the camera. You can tell this is the main focus in the image because its centre.

D. This is the energy from waste facility in St Helier, Jersey, its been taken from far away this photo includes more of the surroundings than the building itself, you can see the sky and the sunset with some hills and rocks all scattered at the front.

E. this is from one of the photographers projects for the BBC broadcasting house which features a lot of time lapse, the photo is of the BBC broadcasting its self including other buildings surroundings it. The colours of the lights and the sky go together really well.

F. Again this is from the photographers project for the BBC broadcasting house this photo was taken right outside of the building where the entrance doors are it shows a lot of people entering and leaving the building its shows all of the detail of the building.

Composition

A. the photographer has took the photo at a low angle and hasn’t zoomed in or out because he’s at a low angle it makes the bridge appear bigger, he’s chosen to include half of the building on the right and chosen not to include anything in the middle in between the bridge and building.

B. the photographer seems to include a lot of the sky in his photos as well as the building its self he hasn’t zoomed in or out, he’s chosen to make it so the building is in the centre an, him including the trees on both sides makes it look like its been purposely positioned like that.

C. the photographer has taken the photo from far away, he’s included more of the street in front giving the person looking at the photo have more to look at it also makes it more interesting making the cars look like beams of light also he’s chosen to take it at a good time because the sky and all the colours go really well together.

D. the photographer has again taken this from far away including the scenery around the building he’s captured it so the lighting on one side reflects and is lit up on one side all the colours in the photo are again very similar all being grey dull colours.

E. the photographer has included more than one building in this photo so it gives you more to look at again he’s included the sky which again goes really well with the colours the purples and blues.

F. the photographer has taken this at a low angle to capture the sky in the photo as well hes gone for the matching colours of the blue sky and the blue glass on the building hes included people in this photo as well as the building it gives you more to look at than just a plain single building.

Techniques used

A. the shutter speed seems average because this photo isn’t to light or to dark it , the depth of field everything is in focus everything in the background and everything in the foreground is clear, there a lot going on in the background than there is in foreground not much is up close apart from the side of the bridge. Rule of third is the centre of the photo is part of the bridge there isn’t much going on in the middle.

B. the shutter speed seems normal there isn’t too much light and it isn’t too dark its all the natural light of it being taken outside, the depth of field everything is in focus everything in the background and foreground there more in the background than up close, the rule of thirds he has got the building the most important and the whole point of the photo is right in the centre.

C. the shutter speed has been open for longer to create the beams of light which are in the photo instead of it taking the picture and it captures the cars the

shutter speed has been made longer, the depth of field everything In the foreground is the beams of light made by the passing cars the building and main feature is the further away, the rule of thirds the main feature in the photo is the building which is important to it being architectural.

D. the shutter speed is normal it isn’t to dark or to light its taken in all the natural light from outside, the depth of field in the foreground is all the rocks and grass in the background is the building and the clouds, rule of thirds is the building is slightly off to the side not making it centre in the photo but the part of the building in the centre is a nice section have centred.

E. the shutter speed again has been left open for a long time because along the road are beams of light which would have been the headlights on the cars, the depth of field is the closed thing to being in the foreground is the building on the right and the background is the much more lit up building its all clear and in focus, the rule of thirds in the centre is one of the buildings. Which is a main focus because it such a different colour than the others.

F. the shutter speed seems normal nothing is the light or to dark, the depth of field everything in the photo is in focus but in the foreground are a few people and in some of the building as it curves to come towards the camera in the background is the glass part of the building and the sky, rule of thirds the curve part of the building is right in the centre making it the main focus of the photo.

Strengths & WeaknessesA. the strengths in this photo are the colours and how he’s angled it to reflect off of the glass. The weaknesses are that you can’t really tell where it is if you were familiar with the place you would if you wanted to visit.

B. the strengths in this photo Is the angle you can see the whole building along with the surroundings like weather, trees etc. the weaknesses are if he captured it on a brighter day or mid day because in the bottom right of the photo you can slightly see the sunrise/set it would look nice to have the light and colour be in the picture.

C. the strengths is the colour they are all ‘cool’ colours and go together really well and it gives the picture a ‘mood’ also the cars being fast and creating the beam of light gives it a really good effect.

D. the strengths is that he’s taken is at a certain angel so it includes the sky, you can see the clouds coming from behind the building also the rocks in the foreground. The weaknesses are its supposed to be architectural but when I looked at it I focused on the surroundings more.

E. the strengths are that its been taken late on nearer to night time so you get to see the buildings lit up which shows off the details so much more, the weaknesses are that he hasn’t chosen one building to focus on he has included more than one.

F. the strengths in this photo are you get to see most of the building and its shape also included some of the sky the weaknesses are him taking the picture having caught the people in it they are a distraction from the building its self.
