Ownership• Celador Films was taken over by Complete Communications,

Originally it was Paul Smith CBE and Jasper Carrott. This happened In 1983 originally it was suppose to be a TV show.

• They have now became their own independent company as they have bought them selves out. They are now a British company.

• Disney started to show some of their products in the US and went to court and won £177Million.

• They was going to be brought by two way media but again Celador Films was able to buy them self's out.

Operating Model• They set themselves a project and when who wants to be a millionaire?

Was out they could use there own money. • Celador would use project capitalisation and also private funding to

produce there films as a lot of money is needed. they could also get money from the BAF.

• They would often thank the people who gave the money to fund them at the end of the film.

• They don't have no technical crew due to them hiring freelance crew by giving them a 6 month contract. The benefits of signing a freelance crew is that it is cheaper.

• They sold the distrubution rights early to pathe. Which they then used to produce the film.

• The signed on products (Sponsorships) for example like Land rovers.

Market Position and Competitors • Celador films are often compared to DNA Films, Film4 Productions and Sony

Pictures Entertainment. • Sony produced Spiderman 2 their budget was $200million and their box

office was $238Million• Celador however produced The Descent cost £3.5Million to make and they

earned $57,051,053.• DNA Films produced a film named 28 Days Later and their budget was

$8Million while there box office was $82.7Million.• Film4 Productions made a film called Shaun of the Dead and their budget

was $6.1Million and their box office was $30Million.• American like company's like Sony are more successful due to the fact that

they put more money into films and the fact that they are Hollywood films. • Celador is more successful than film4.
