What is a Target Audience?•Target audience is who a particular

product/message is aimed at. • It is crucial for companies to think about who

their product is aimed at as they can adapt their product/message so that this group of people will find it most appealing.

•This means that they will possibly sell more/get the message across better as the group of people will be more attracted to it as it has been designed to appeal specifically to them.

EDM Stereotypes• Stereotypes can be used in

target research to help emphasise the group of people that they are aiming for.

• For EDM this stereotype could be that people that listen to this music will always go to raves and parties. They may be single and will have no kids as people with kids wont have the time and energy to go to parties.

• These people will have a generally good income as will have no other costs towards their living.

My Magazine• I have taken this into account

and added a few things to my magazine when planning.

• For example, the price is fairly low for a music magazine (they usually range between £2 to £5)

• As these people will not usually buy magazines, they will be spending their money on alcohol at parties and food etc.

• I have made the background colour for the front cover vibrant as they will enjoy such atmospheres at parties/raves.

Other Magazines• I can see similarities

between other EDM magazine covers and mine.

• For example the colour choice is quite vibrant in both yet the background remains fairly blank.

• As well as the slanted text to grab the audiences attention with large text for the main story of the magazine.

• Similarly, some of the text has a different colour to the rest to show specific key words that may interest the reader.
