Target audience research

My trailer will involve aspects of post-apocalyptic movies, however the genre will not be ‘horror’ or ‘science-fiction’ as the cause of my main characters desertion would not be due to a zombie virus outbreak or post nuclear war situation. The reasoning hasn’t actually been decided, and isn’t mentioned in the trailer so adds a sense of mystery to the whole concept.

I’ve decided to brand my trailer as a ‘Drama’, and should relate to an older audience. However, I also want my trailer to appeal to older teenagers and so would give it the age rating of: (15)

My trailer will still be relatable to adults as they would be able to emphasise with the ‘older’ teenager

My friend Abi is playing the main character (Eryn Maria Gray). She’s 18, which helps my target audience range from older teen to adult. The target audience should also be focused towards people who enjoy movies of the genre ‘Drama’, meaning the trailer should incorporate a bit of storytelling and mystery
