b. Existing Tapi Bridge, located 20m d/s of the proposed bridge on the same highwayc. Tapi bridge on NH-3A which is about 3.7km d/s of the existing Tapi bridged. Sulwade barrage, which is about 5.7km d/s of the existing Tapi Bridgee. Successfully conducted cases studies based on HEC-RAS modelling:f. Calibration of model using design parameters of the existing Sulwade barrageg. Estimation of discharge for the 1959 HFL at the bridge on NH-3Ah. Engineering of Jamia Millia Islamia-New Delhi, who did his Ph.D. from United Kingdom Worked as Hydrologist and Hydraulic modelling expert for the following projects:

o ”Two Laning with Paved Shoulders of Aligarh to Kanpur Section of NH-91” for Lanco Infratech; Concessionaire Lanco Kanpur Highways Limited, responsibilities included hydrological & hydraulic studies for proposed two minor bridges (30m each) coming in a loop of Noon river & preparation of report

a. In the Noon River loop, there are four minor bridges, two towards u/s side of loop along railway and two towards d/s side of loop along the roadway. Between railway & roadway, there are 2 abandoned minor bridges along the old railway track

b. Design discharge (Q50) of Noon is obtained using Flood Estimation Reports for Middle Ganga Plains (subzone – 1f)c. The HEC-RAS software was used for the modelling of Noon River loop d. The four cases studies had been done. Calibration of 1962 Flood (having two abandoned railway bridges and

two roadway bridges existed during flood) with an observed HFL; Design flood with additional 2 x 6.0m clear span in the second bridge; Design flood with removal of existing bridge of first roadway bridge; and Design flood with removal of two existing road bridges.

e. Proposed to abandon both the existing roadway bridges and recommended constructing of two new bridges at 12m d/s side of Noon River

o ”Six Laning of Agra-Etawah Bypass Section of NH-2 (from km199+660 to km 323+525 Under NHDP Phase-V to be executed as BOT (Toll) Project on Pattern” for Ramky Infra; Concessionaire Agra-Etawah Tollway Limited, responsibilities included hydrological & hydraulic designs for proposed major bridge (22 spans with total length of 500.04 m) on River Yamuna & preparation of report

a. Catchment area plan for proposed bridge on Yamuna was done by using ArcGIS software.b. Proposed four lanes Yamuna Bridge on NH-2 was to be located between two existing bridges (each carrying

two lanes carriageway), separated by 30 m. First one is old bridge located downstream side of proposed bridge and second one is new bridge.

c. Design discharge of proposed bridge was 9765 cumec. d. The HEC-RAS software is used for the modelling of Yamuna River consisting of: The river which is

represented through 11 cross sections; Within this reach, there are three structures: existing old bridge, existing new bridge and proposed bridge that is located between old & new bridges.

e. The three case studies have been done based on HEC-RAS modelling. Calibration with measured peak discharge & measured HFL in 1978 flood; HFL at upstream side of Old Bridge & New Bridge corresponding to design discharge; HFL at upstream side of Old Bridge, Proposed Bridge & New Bridge corresponding to design discharge Hydrological & hydraulic studies of six more minor bridges had also been done.

o ”Four/two Laning of Rimuli - Roxy - Rajamunda Section of NH-215 from km 163.00 to km 269.000 in the state of Orissa to be executed as BOT (Toll) project on DBFOT pattern under NHDP Phase-III” for Rithwik-AMR-MBL JV; Concessionaire Odisha Steel Expressway Pvt. Ltd., Odisha, responsible for hydrological and hydraulic (using HEC-RAS) studies of four major bridges and 34-minor bridges

o “DPR for 2 Lane with Paved Shoulders Configuration of the Heritage Route Ahmedabad to Dandi NH-228 from Mahi Sagar to Kim River” for NHAI, Gujarat, responsible for hydrological and hydraulic (using HEC-RAS software) studies of two major bridges (1,150m on Mahi Sagar River; and 1,150m on Narmada River) and seven minor bridges

o “Development of Sagar – Damoh Road from Ch.0+000 to Ch.68+810 of SH-14 to 2-Lane section in Madhya Pradesh” for Essel Infra; Concessionaire Essel Sagar – Damoh Toll Roads Ltd., MP, responsible for hydrological and hydraulic (using HEC-RAS software) studies of three major bridges and obtaining approval from Independent Consultant (LEA Associates South Asia Pvt.
