Classroom Behavior
The following set of expectations have been put in place to ensure that all students have the opportunity to study in a positive environment.
![Page 12: Tap program orientation fy 2012](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5589e098d8b42a682c8b456d/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
Attendance
Language learning takes time, hard work, and DAILY PRACTICE!
In recognition of this, TAP program instructors keep strict records of attendance.
IRC & LSS all monitor student attendance.
![Page 13: Tap program orientation fy 2012](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5589e098d8b42a682c8b456d/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
Attendance
All students are required to attend at least 90% of classes. Students who fail to meet this requirement will not receive a certificate.
If a student needs to miss a class, he or she should notify the instructor and case worker before the class if possible.
![Page 14: Tap program orientation fy 2012](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5589e098d8b42a682c8b456d/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
Punctuality
Arriving late disrupts your instructor and other students.
Being late is not appropriate in American culture.
All students are expected to be seated and ready to work, and return from breaks on time.
![Page 15: Tap program orientation fy 2012](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5589e098d8b42a682c8b456d/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Homework
Language learning cannot be done in class alone.
Homework is an important part of TAP classes.
![Page 16: Tap program orientation fy 2012](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5589e098d8b42a682c8b456d/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
Homework
TAP students are expected to complete about two-three hours of homework on the days they are not in class.
Failure to complete homework assignments limits student success and disrupts the flow of the class.
![Page 17: Tap program orientation fy 2012](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5589e098d8b42a682c8b456d/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)

The labs are a wonderful resource for students and should be respected.
Please don’t bring food or drinks into the lab.
