Since 1993, Tamwood International Camps has been offering world-class instruction, lots of fun and a warm welcome to young people from around the globe at its summer and winter camp programs in Canada and the USA.

Tamwood is a privately owned and operated business that receives more than 2500 international students in its programs each year. We help campers develop self-confidence, a sense of adventure and curiosity and an appreciation for cultural diversity. While camp may last for just one season, these are the values that last and shape a persons life time.

S2014 camp program options

This is Tamwoods signature camp program which attracts more than 1000 international students each year across all 7 locations in North America. Students learn English and new skills in sports, creative and adventure activities, experience cultural exchange and enjoy fun social events and excursions.

English and Activity Camp

All activities offered are instructional so campers learn new skills and improve existing skills under the organized coaching and leadership of trained Tamwood staff. Activities vary by campus and by week.

Program Includes:

Winter TeenEnglish and Activity CampTamwoods Vancouver Winter Camp offers the same high-quality English language instruction as Tamwoods summer camps, plus popular Canadian winter activities like skiing, snowboarding and ice skating. Designed especially for teens ages 12-18, students can participate in 2-, 3-, or 4-week programs, including 15 hours of classroom study and up to four organized activities per week. Classes are held at Tamwoods downtown Vancouver campus.

Skiing / Snowboarding at Grouse Mountain

On weekdays, after classes finish, campers take part in recreational and sightseeing activities in Vancouver that are designed to be both educational and fun. Activities include visits to downtown Vancouver, Chinatown, the Lynn Valley Suspension Bridge, Science World, Vancouver Aquatic Centre, and much more. Note: Not all activities are offered in all weeks.

Activities:

This program includes a full day trip to the world famous Whistler Resort, host venue of the 2012 winter Olympics. Also available are optional weekend tours to Seattle, Victoria and other Vancouver attractions.

Excursions:

Teens get maximum contact with English speakers through our Homestay Program. All homestay hosts are carefully selected and offer single or twin rooms, three meals a day and lots of attention to their guest students. Students who have family in Vancouver can also opt for self-arranged accommodation.

Program Includes:

Whistler Teen Adventure CampGet ready for extreme outdoor adventure. Jump into structured mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, kayaking, orienteering, camping and mountaineering. Join a small group of teens from around the world who, like you, are ready for more than what a standard camp offers. You will learn important leadership, team work, camping and first aid skills as you try new activities and enjoy wilderness sleepovers in the mountains.

Professional instruction in adventure sports and activities

Bi-weekly 3 day guided outback camping trip

Fun adventure and cultural activities

Great sightseeing, social activities, excursions and cultural events.

Campers get professional instruction in such adventure activities as: mountain biking, kayaking, rock climbing, white water rafting, alpine hiking and camping. They also enjoy lots of fun social and recreational activities. Note: Not all activities offered in all weeks
