Results Analysis
Here are the results from my questionnaire, and how they will affect my music magazine:
With 9 people saying they mostly listened to ‘Alternative’ music, I will make that type of music my main focus. However, in close second ‘Different Language’ got 8 votes so perhaps I will mention some in my magazine as well.
Kerrang gained the most votes so I will buy an issue of Kerrang magazine to study and analyse in order to get a few ideas that I can integrate into my magazine.
I took care to not phrase my question as “How frequently would you want a music magazine to be published”, as even if a reader wants it to be published every week, they may not necessarily buy it every week. 12 out of 20 people said they would buy a music magazine every month. To reduce costs and improve profit, my magazine should only be published once a month (selling it once a week or fortnight will be a waste as not many will be sold).

The majority chose Artist/Band interviews, so though my coverlines will mention the next 2 most liked (Event Information and Reviews) as well, perhaps my two-page spread’s main aspect will be an artist/band interview.
Since it was almost a tie between £2.50-£2.99 and 3.50-3.99, I’ll make my music magazine £3.50 to hopefully satisfy the majority.
As you can see, the same amount of people chose Black and Purple and Purple and White. I will have to decide which colour scheme to use for my magazine’s theme.

Afterthoughts:
The only problem with a tally is that people can see previous votes. To solve that, next time instead of giving them the tally to do themselves, I will ask the questions and mark it up myself so that their answers will not be influenced by the answers of others.
The overwhelming majority of people I interviewed were 16-18 years old, so they will be my target market.
Font 4 was clearly the most popular. That font was Inked God, and that will be my magazine’s Masthead font.
