The Louisiana Department of Educations Talent Recruitment System is a free, web-based service that pairs job-seeking educators with Louisiana districts/schools seeking to hire them.

On the Teach LA website you can find a wealth of information regarding teacher certification, preparation programs, as well as information on jobs in Louisiana. Click on the appropriate tab as identified by the red arrows to access this information.

4Teach LA Website- Log In5Louisiana Believes

You will log in on the home page with your UserID and password. If you do not yet have HR Rights within the Teach LA website, then click New to Teach LA and register. See Second red arrow. 5New Members: Register 6Louisiana Believes

Complete this simple registration form and then click Create new Teach Louisiana account.

Upon doing so, you will receive a completion message with your login and password. Save this information for future logins.

Return to www.teachlousiana.net and log in with your user ID and password.

Once youve logged in with your login information, you will see the Human Resources tab appear at the top of your screen.

Once at the HR tab, you can find guides with helpful information on posting jobs, etc., and you can post and view your job postings by clicking the Your Job Posting link. See the arrow on the top/right of the screen.

On the HR tab you can also find helpful info such as:

Status/Tracking of Certification Requests Verify a Teaching Certificate PRAXIS Search Certification Application Packets Louisiana PRAXIS/NTE Requirements

After clicking Your Job Postings you can view your active jobs.

You can also add new job postings by clicking the Add New Job Posting link.

10Posting a Job Vacancy 11Louisiana Believes

To post a new job posting to the Teach LA website, simply fill in all information on this template. Note: You only have to enter the Contact Info and How to Apply information once. The information that you type in these fields remains and will reappear the next time you start a new job posting. You can tweak this information at any time as needed. Your LEA will appear for you. No action is needed here.

Select Site- Click on the drop down menu and select the school site for this job opening.

Position Type- Click on the drop down menu and select the most appropriate position type.

Job Description, Contact Information, and How to Apply- Enter this information.

Lastly, click the Start new job post and search for applicants button. Note- When you click the Start new job post and search for applicants button, 3 things happen:

The job posts to the Teach LA websiteThe system automatically delivers candidate match data to your inbox.You receive an electronic file via email with the candidate match data. 11Jobs are Posted 3 Ways on Teach LAThere are 3 ways one can view job postings on the Teach LA website:

1.) By Geographical Location

2.) By Map View

Click on the Jobs tab to view job postings in one of 3 ways:

1.) By Geographical Location

Jobs are posted by geographical location. One can also search for jobs by geographical location and by position type at the same time. To do this, make a selection from the drop down menu. You can hover over the alphabet at the top of the page and the name of districts which begin with that alphabet letter will appear. This will help you navigate more quickly.

Job vacancies are also viewable by map view. Simply click on the district name and jobs for that geographical area will display.

Job vacancies are also viewable by position type. Click on the position type, such as Elementary, to view the jobs posted for that position type. The number to the right of the job name is the number of job vacancies for that particular position posted to the Teach LA website at this time.

Return to the HR tab and then click on Your Job Postings.

Next, click on the HR View, Edit & Search link for the job of interest. Here you will be able to view candidate match details.

Please note: Each time you click the HR View, Edit & Search link the system will search to see if any new applicants have entered the system since you last checked. If so, their name will appear in your candidate match list. We will see an example of this on slide # 21.19Details- Viewing Job Details20Louisiana Believes

When you click on the HR View, Edit & Search link for a particular job you will first see the job details as in the screen shot here.20Applicants- Candidate Match Information 21Louisiana Believes

On the Applicants tab you will be able to view your applicant match data.

Name Column- Click on a candidates name to view their employment profile.

Date Column- The date listed is the date the match was made.

Certificate Column- If you see the word Yes in the Certificate column, this means that this candidate holds Louisiana certification in this particular area. If you do not see the word Yes in the Certificate column this indicates that while this candidate does not currently hold Louisiana certification in this area, the candidate has expressed an interest in jobs matching this certification area. You can follow up with the candidate directly for more information.

Status Column- Once you have viewed a candidates profile it will show Viewed. If you have not yet viewed the candidates profile, it will display New Applicant.

21Actions Tab- Emailing Match Info22Louisiana Believes

On the Actions tab you can email the candidate match information to a colleague. Type in their name and email address and then click, Send candidate match data to the above person/email. This will generate an email to this person containing all of the candidate match information.

Note: When you post the job you will automatically receive this same email. 22Email Notification 23Louisiana Believes

Information in this file includes:

Name and Certification: The names of educators holding Louisiana certification are underlined and in blue print. Click on the names of these candidates to view their Louisiana certification.

Seeking: If the word Yes appears here this indicates that this candidate is actively seeking employment. If the word Yes does not appear here, this means this candidate is Just Looking.

Cert Match: Yes indicates that this
