    Thanksgiving

During the harvest season we are reminded of God's blessings in our lives. Sometimes in the busyness of life we

overlook simple blessings, warm homes, safe water, and adequate nutrition. It's easy, and second-nature for us to

concern ourselves about the details of our lives, to reflect or ruminate on the past or worry about the future. This

month, let's take time daily to focus on specific things we are thankful for. In so doing, our hearts will be changed,

our stress rates will fall and God's love will more effectively flow through our words and actions.

    An Opportunity

As the Christmas Season approaches and we're considering what to give friends and family who seemingly have

everything, please consider giving them something new, like a goat, an alpaca, rabbits or chickens. Through

Heiffer International it's possible to choose a meaningful gift to give in a loved one's name and through that gift we

help children and families around the world receive training and animal gifts that help them become self-reliant.

It's an opportunity to help people and transform their lives right where they live. Check out their website at:

    Church Humor:

    "Praise the Lord!"

A preacher trained his horse to go when he said "

    Praise the Lord "

and to stop when he said " Amen "

The preacher mounted the horse and said "Praise

the Lord " and went for a ride.

When he wanted to stop for lunch , he said "

    "Amen."

He took off again saying " Praise the Lord "

The horse started going toward the edge of a cliff.

The preacher got exited and said " whoa " whoa !

Then he remembered and said " Amen " and the

horse stopped at the edge of the cliff.

The preacher was so relieved and grateful that he

looked up to heaven and said " Praise the Lord ! "
