TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME WHAT IS TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME? Take Me Out To the Ballgame is a Jays Care program that offers Blue Jays tickets to charitable organizations that work with vulnerable children and youth. This program provides tickets to children and youth who otherwise wouldn’t have the chance to attend a Blue Jays game at the Rogers Centre. Depending on the nature and size of the request, tickets can be offered through the Jays Care Community Clubhouse, reallocation from our generous donors, or through our partnership with Kids Up Front. JAYS CARE FOUNDATION believes in a level playing field where all Canadian children and youth have the opportunity to thrive and succeed. One way we are working to achieve this goal is through TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME. WHY TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME? There’s nothing quite like watching a major league game in person; the smells, the sounds, the crunch of peanut shells under your feet, the crack of the bat as it connects with a fastball. For many, a day at the ballpark is a fun and exciting way to let loose, chow down on some ballpark food and root, root, root for the Blue Jays. For many more, a day at the ballpark is an impossibility. A host of barriers – financial, medical, accessibility – prevent children from attending Blue Jays games. Take Me Out To The Ballgame helps remove those barriers for children and youth so they can experience the magic of a Jays game. Once inside, our guests can dream bigger than they ever imagined. Approximately 85% of youth were attending their first Blue Jays game In 2016, 3836 children and youth got the chance to watch a Blue Jays game in the Jays Care Community Clubhouse Since 2009, more than 240 charitable agencies have been able to access tickets for children and youth in their programs In 2016, more than 1300 marginalized children and youth attended a Blue Jays game through Kids Up Front

WHAT THE PROGRAM INVOLVES:

1. TICKETS TO THE JAYS CARE COMMUNITY CLUBHOUSE

The Jays Care Community Clubhouse – a luxury double-suite at Rogers Centre – is equipped with memorabilia from many Blue Jays players, accessible bench and balcony seating, a special game time welcome on the video board and even a meet and greet with ACE!

2. RE-ALLOCATED TICKETS Throughout the season, Jays Care Foundation is occasionally gifted with tickets which we are able to redistribute to children and youth who cherish the opportunity to experience a Blue Jays game.

3. KIDS UP FRONT

Jays Care is a proud partner of Kids Up Front – a charitable organization that provides access to art, culture, sport and recreation for children who do not otherwise have the opportunity. Through our partnership, Kids Up Front is able to distribute Blue Jays tickets to organizations in need.

"I would like to thank you very much for your generosity in providing my 14-year-old son with Jays tickets. My son has been going through an extremely difficult time, we've had a few deaths in the family and he has been closed off to the world. I could tell from his face that when he was immersed in the game he was so happy and his troubles were far away. As a parent it's really difficult to see your child go through such a difficult time, so from the bottom of my heart I thank you very much for giving my son a few hours of happiness.”

PARENT OF CHILD IN ATTENDANCE

"We have been receiving emails and calls all day thanking us for making a tough day, week or year that much brighter."
