  • 10. Any and all awards may be withheld by the judges if in their opinion the exhibit is not worthy. However, if a blue ribbon is awarded in a class eligible for an ADS Award, the Award may not be withheld. The decision of the judges is final. Correct classification and labeling shall be the responsibility of the exhibitor. No label may be changed, specimens added, removed, or altered or substituted after the judging has begun or after an award has been placed. If an error is discovered in an exhibit after completion of the judging, any award placed thereon (ADS, Special or Ribbon) shall be forfeited by the exhibitor.

    Class 171. Five miniatures and/or miniature candidates of American origin. Hybridizer's name must appear on label except for seedlings shown by originator.

    Class 172. Twelve cultivars and/or species and/or miniature candidates of miniature daffodils one stem each from at least 3 divisions, individually labeled. The medal may be won only one time in all ADS Shows by an exhibitor. A former winner may exhibit in this class, but may receive only the Watrous Ribbon. Eligible for the Roberta C.     DESIGN DIVISION

    VALUE'S WORLD Class 1: SALUTE TO VALLIE

    A mass design using all fresh plant material staged on a pedestal with a 14" square top.

    Class 2: TEA PARTY FOR THE DOLLS A functional table design staged on a table 18" high with a 20" round top to be covered by the exhibitor. Off-white underlay provided.

    Class 3: WINDOW BOXES OF BEACON HILL A miniature design, not to exceed 5" in any dimension, staged in a window box measuring 4" long by 1" front to back by 1" deep. Window box provided by committee. Fresh plant material should predominate but some dried may be included.

    Class 4: SAILING, SAILING A creative design staged on a pedestal with a 14" square top.

    Class 5: DUCK HOUSE ON THE POND A design utilizing water staged on a plinth 13" by 13" by 37".

    RULES: 1. Daffodils must be used in all classes, but need not be the only material used. 2. Classes are limited to four (4) entries each. 3. A written list of plant material with botanical and common names should accompany

    each design.

    4. All designs must be in place by 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 1996, ready for judging.

    5. No artificial or treated fresh plant material may be used. Plant material on the conservation list is not allowed.

    6. Bases, mats, and accessories are permitted in all classes.

    The Horticulture schedule has been approved by the American Daffodil Society, Inc., and follows the Royal Horticultural Society System of Classification. All exhibitors are requested to supply the Show Chairman with stamped self-addressed envelopes in which their entry cards and ribbons can be mailed to them. Dress warmly as Hall is kept cold for flowers. Exhibitors are encouraged to bring their own coffee.
