Proposal to add 9 Taiwanese and 2 Hakka ideographs to UAX #45 Author: Peter Burkimsher Date: 2018-09-07 The 5irst 3 ideographs appeared in the 1996 Taiwanese Han Character Bible, ISBN 957-99771-4-3. The source code is in the format STHP_10[page number]. The next 3 ideographs appeared in the 2009 PCT Hymnal Sèng-si聖詩 Seventh Edition, 4 th printing April 2016, ISBN 978-986-7134-30-1. The source code is in the format PCTH_10[hymn number]. The following 3 ideographs appeared in the New Testament of Today's Taiwanese Bible, ISBN 978-986-6674-39-6. The source code is in the format TTV_10[page number]. The 5inal 2 ideographs in this proposal appeared in the Hakka Chinese Bible, ISBN 978-986-6674-33-4. The source code is in the format THV_[page number]. The Bibles and hymnal are in active use by the Presbyterian Church of Taiwan, a denomination with 238,372 members. I propose to add these ideographs to UAX #45 as candidates for future encoding. Additional evidence such as more photos, Bible references, frequencies of each hymn being sung, PPT 5iles and websites using inline images, may be provided upon request. Special thanks to: Andrew West, who provided ideograph glyphs through his BabelStone font, and discovered that one of the characters proposed earlier is a variant. Richard Cook, who corrected IDS codes and con5irmed the characters are not in Wenlin. Ken Lunde, who guided me through writing several drafts of this document.
