jazz musicians intent. Unlike some singers, I never feel as though I’m playing “against” her, we run and walk together. More than just a vocalist, she’s a fellow jazz musician. I’ve always believed that talent is mostly inborn dedication; she has that, and her respect for the music and the musicians that perform it surpasses her youth and experience level. -- Dennis Caiazza (bassist for Clark Terry, Roy Hargrove, Eddie Daniels, Red Holloway, Joshua Redman & more) Lauren is truly one of the most promising young vocalists I have worked with in the 25 years I have been playing and running jazz jams. She has great intonation, articulation, and sense of swing. She is intense, focused, and a serious student of the medium, the history, as well as the masters of jazz. It is exciting to watch her delve into straight ahead jazz with so much passion at such a young age.
