with a sudanese father and english mother, taisir gibreel spent her childhood in sudan before moving to the uk at 17 years old.

she later moved to scotland to pursue a degree in textile design at duncan of jordanstone college of art and design. she graduated to specialise in print and weave, and embarked on a mission to embrace bold, abstract colours and patterns in her work.taisir’s collections offer a fearless approach to design with distinctive and interesting combinations of colour and print, showcasing her diverse, cultural upbringing.

drawing great inspiration from the colours and shapes found in the highlands and the geometric shapes and structures found in the scottish parliament building, her collections are based on original hand drawings of rural and urban scottish landscapes. the designs celebrate colour, culture and diversity, reflecting her own sudanese background and heritage.

inpsired by lochnager (the hill of laughter and noise) and schiehallion (fairy hill of caledonians) the tangerine, turquoise and burnt red in the vermillion scotch collection embraces the enchanting and mystical colours of these majestic mountains. the scarves are made from luxurious silk, celebrating british design and craftsmanship.
