Just like the intricate stitching of a hand-tailored suit or the understated accessory that completes a favorite dress, careful detailing makes a space feel special, intentional, tailored. Designer Paul Smith’s phrase “classic with a twist” is iconic within the fashion industry, and that principle has been our guide for the making of the Tailored Twist Collection. Classic, traditional patterning with subtle embellishments that add color and visual interest. Most importantly, creating the feeling that someone has thoughtfully placed every detail, just so we would feel welcome and at home.

The Tailored Twist Collection features four unique patterns: Tailored, Tailored Bloom, Tailored Plaid and Tailored Madras. Any of the patterns can be ordered individually, or combined to create a uniquely custom feel. We’ve followed the same key principles for mixing patterns that are used in fashion design, such as mixing prints of different scales, combining different patterns from the same color family, and letting one pattern dominate, while the other is a playful accent. So every combination creates a design that’s whimsical but not erratic, embellished but not frivolous.

Tailored Plaid features Tailored as the dominant style, with a bit of tartan along the tile’s edge.

Tailored Madras* is a value-engineered, mid-scale plaid in a palette that coordinates with Tailored Twist Collection. Tailored Madras can be used as a substitute or complement to Tailored when projects require cost averaging.

Orchestrating the twists.

Using an innovative thread-up technique on the edge of Tailored Plaid and Tailored Bloom, each 18” x 36” accent tile allows playful, unexpected twists of color and pattern. The Tailored Twist Collection’s full, tightly woven textures warm its overall aesthetic, while providing exceptional strength and durability. Made with 100% solution-dyed Dynex SD fiber, Tailored Twist Collection is a high-quality textile with superior light fastness, stain resistance and true, vibrant color. The Tailored Bloom accent pattern was developed with an innovative 2-ply solution dye process that mimics a space dyed yarn, helping us move closer to achieving our initiative for zero water waste by 2020.

The Tailored Twist Collection of products are designed to express the beauty inherent in the imperfections and variations found in hand crafted textiles. Shifts in Pattern repeats, colour and accuracy are to be expected and celebrated as desired characteristics. A range of tiles should be approved prior to install.

ethos® MODULAR WITH OMNICOAT TECHNOLOGY™

Omnicoat Technology is the application of a proprietary coating to the backing of ethos Modular tile. Omnicoat Technology provides an excellent chemical barrier, thus preventing any interaction between materials in the backing and the wide variety of components found on and within the flooring substrate. Through this barrier property, Omnicoat Technology serves to increase the compatibility of ethos Modular with adverse and minimally prepared substrates, allowing for installations over previously incompatible adhesive types such as general purpose, styrene-based, and multipurpose.

CONSTRUCTION OPTIONS

Through our ReStart® program, we ensure 100% of the flooring and samples returned are recycledor reused, guaranteed.
