Main Risks Within Dangerous Products

– LVD (risk of overheating, electric shock, risk of injury)

– Toys (risk of injury and suffocation, risk strangle, risk of damage to health- an excess amount of phthalates)

– Others dangerous products within non-harmonized area (risk of injury -stepladder, high chair, risk of damage to health -laser pointer)

Testing of dangerous products

– To take samples of products and subject them to safety checks- Number of sampled products: 1001 pcs

Market Surveillance problems

– Low introduction of risk analysis based on complaints from consumers and from economics operators

– Insufficient cooperation, cooperation with other state administration bodies

– Lack of efficient system for the exchange of information – Lack of resources, increase in state budget especially in

the area of financial means for sampling of products – Increase publicising of the results

Conclusions

– non-sufficient knowledge of Pressure Equipment Directive– incorrect classification of products into determined and

non-determined products– missing CE marking, or is conformity mark used legally?– missing EC declaration of conformity – has it been the

Declaration of conformity issued on pressure cooker?– missing identification data on products and information in

the User’s Guide– repeated inspection of products is necessary

Concluding remarks

Objective of Market Surveillance is to protect consumers as well as provide useful information and recommendations to consumers as well as entrepreneurs – economic operators – all persons involved in the process of products introduction into the market. In order to get one functional internal market we must work jointly and learn from each others.
