Ia Orana, Welcome…Verdant mountains rising up from turquoise coral fringed lagoons, French chic and a touch of
luxury all contribute to making The Islands of Tahiti irresistible. What we often simply refer to
as Tahiti is actually five archipelagos known as French Polynesia, officially still part of France.
Tahiti is the largest of the Society Islands, which also includes the gorgeous islands of Moorea and
Bora Bora. The iconic beauty of The Islands of Tahiti is well known. Coral reefs, abundant with
marine life, protect impossibly blue shallow lagoons - perfect places for swimming, watersports
or simply admiring from an idyllic stretch of beach. Make a dream come true and find yourself in
an overwater bungalow, waking up in luxury and diving into warm turquoise waters straight from
your own deck.
The Islands of Tahiti offer a unique and memorable experience - Enjoy!

options, leaving nothing to
chance.
Travel TipsFrench Polynesia is also known as The Islands of Tahiti. There are 118 islands comprising French Polynesia, of which Tahiti is the main island and the location of the capital city of Papeete. Faa’a International Airport is located on the island of Tahiti approximately 5 kilometres west of Papeete.
Air Tahiti Nui is the international airline to The Islands of Tahiti. It offers direct flights between Auckland and Papeete. Air New Zealand also offers direct flights from Auckland to Papeete.
International flights arrive on the island of Tahiti. Due to crossing the International Dateline, most flights from Auckland arrive the day before they depart. Holiday packages in French Polynesia will usually require one night in Papeete before travelling to another island the following morning. Most passengers returning to New Zealand will require one night in Papeete prior to departure, as flights leave early in the morning.
Air Tahiti is a private, domestic airline which links all five archipelagos. Travel between some islands, such as Tahiti to Moorea, can be made by high-speed ferry.
We recommend booking the same hotel chain throughout your visit, as ‘Island Combo’ specials are often available. We also recommend booking transfers throughout your visit as many resorts are located on islets within the lagoon, only accessible by boat.
Passports & VisasAustralian passport holders do not currently require a visa for a stay as a tourist of up to three months but must hold a passport with six months validity beyond the date of departure from The Islands of Tahiti.
If you are a non-Australian passport holder please check your visa requirements with the appropriate Embassy or Consular office. Please note you may also require a transit visa for New Zealand if you are flying via Auckland.
CurrencyThe local currency is the French Pacific Franc (XPF). There are plenty of ATMs and banks in Tahiti however access can be difficult in the outer islands. Major credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants, boutiques and other tourist establishments. We do recommend you carry some local currency for smaller purchases.
Note: AUD$1 = 80 XPF approximately.
SeasonalityWhile seasons may vary for each resort, generally speaking, the following seasons apply:
High Season: May - October & December - January Low Season: Rest of the year
Seasonal surcharges, supplements, compulsory meals and/or transfers may apply during high season or at particular properties.
For all hotels on The Islands of Tahiti a compulsory local tax of approximately 150-200XPF per person per night must be paid directly to the hotels.
ClimateThe Islands of Tahiti enjoy an even climate year-round with daytime temperatures around 28-30°C, dropping slightly in the evening. The weather is warmer and more humid from November through to May and drier and cooler from June until October. Year round, the sun rises between 5 and 6am and sets between 5.30 and 7pm. There is very little difference between high and low tide in Tahiti.
Tahiti is a true Honeymoon destination & many hotels offer free gifts to Honeymooners. Look for this red heart throughout the brochure to identify the resorts offering gifts. Honeymoon gifts range from a bottle of champagne on arrival, to sarongs and t-shirts, massages and romantic dinners. Contact us for a full list of gifts on offer at the resorts. Not all Honeymoon gifts can be combined with resort specials so our Tahiti Specialist will guide you.
Many resorts throughout French Polynesia offer discounts depending on your length of stay. These range from free nights to free room upgrades, free meals, combined island room discounts and long stay room discounts.Look for this blue bonus logo throughout the brochure to identify the resorts where bonus deals are on offer. Contact us for the latest deals available at your preferred resorts.

Your first glimpse of the amazing colours of the Bora Bora lagoon are on arrival at the Motu Mute airport which is located on a motu, a small sandy island. The majority of hotels and resorts are built on motus in the lagoon surrounding the main island, with Mount Otemanu peak as its centrepiece.
The array of blue colours in the lagoon is mesmerising and the waters are warm and clear.

A dozen small islands circling an aquamarine lagoon make up Tetiaroa – and the picture such paints is just so captivating that Marlon Brando, after whom the resort was named, could not help but be enthralled and purchase it in 1967. Stay in any of the Brando’s 35 secluded villas with private pools standing on white-sand beaches. Indulge in gastronomic delight and choose from a wide array of Polynesian-inspired dishes, rich French cuisine, and flavourful East/West fusion of culinary marvels.

All bookings with Tahiti Travel Connection (“TTC”) are subject to the terms and conditions and limitations of liability imposed by airlines, hoteliers, coach operators, and other service providers including, but not limited to, rail, car hire and restaurant operators whose services we utilise, some of which limit or exclude liability in respect of death, personal injury, delay and loss or damage to baggage. Bookings with carriers or tour operators are also subject to the carrier’s terms and conditions as printed or referred to in their tickets and/or timetables and/or regulations. TTC and/or its agents reserve the right, without notice, to modify, cancel or withdraw any of the arrangements and in this event the full amounts paid will be returned to the customer, and upon rendering the same, all liability of TTC and/or its agents in respect thereof shall cease. TTC and/or its agents reserve the right to decline to accept or retain any person as a member of any group at any time. DEPOSITS, FINAL PAYMENT
A non-refundable deposit of $600 per booking must be paid at the time of booking. Bookings for which this deposit is not received are subject to cancellation without notice. If TTC is unable to confirm the requested arrangements the deposit will be fully refundable. Deposits vary for each tour operator, hotel or provider of any service contained in this brochure and will be payable according to the general terms and conditions of each operator. Firm reservations cannot be made until the required deposit is received. The full payment must be received not less than 60 days prior to departure, unless specified otherwise. If the balance payment is not received by TTC by the due date, we reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled and to apply the appropriate cancellation charges. Payments by credit card are subject to merchant fees.
AMENDMENT FEES
For each amendment requested after confirmation a fee of $50 will be charged in addition to any charges levied by hotels, ground/cruise operators or airlines. The fee will be $100 if vouchers have already been issued. An amendment constitutes a change to an existing booking and not a transfer to another tour or date, wherein cancellation fees may apply.
CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS
All airfares are non-refundable. Should you or any member of your party wish to cancel, you must advise your Travel Agent and/or TTC in writing. Such written advice should be signed by the person who made the original booking. The cancellation is not effective until TTC receives the written advice. – 14 days, or less, prior to departure: 100% of total cost.
Cancellations will also be subject to cancellation fees levied by each operator according to their respective Booking Terms and Conditions. Please note that it is your responsibility to request from your Travel Agent or TTC the details of terms and conditions, and to ensure that you have understood their contents. The payment of your deposit constitutes an acceptance of those terms and conditions and your acknowledgement that you will be bound by their cancellation fee charges. Any unused Car Rental or tax free car leasing period is not refundable. No refund is made on any pre-booked accommodation, coach tours, villas, or other travel not utilised. No refund is available for cancellation after the tour has commenced or in respect of any tours, accommodation, meals or any other services not utilised.
