Tadeusz Kościuszko
Andrzej Tadeusz Bonawentura Kościuszko was born in 1746 in Poland and died in 1817 in Switzerland.
He went to America in 1776, where he joined the forces fighting for independence from the British. Then he was transferred to Philadelphia, where he took parts in planning fortifications to defend the residence of the Continental Congress against the British. In 1784 he came back to Poland and in 1794 he was a leader of national uprising.
Artur Rodziński
Artur Rodziński was born in 1892 in Austria-Hungary and died in 1958 in USA.
He was American conductor of Polish descent. In 1925 he made his American debut with the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra. After 4 years he joined the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
