The new Palladio® thermal break profi le draws inspiration from the principles of nature and uses air, the best insu-

lator ever, as a protection against heat and cold.

Profi les in steel and stainless steel have slots along their entire surface, their shape and size studied to allow the circulation of air needed to stop heat and cold transmission from one side of the profi le to the other. The positive results are confi rmed by special tests taken at CERT laboratories, where the heat transmission was examined in detail.

The conclusion therefore is not just the outcome of a mathematical formula: Palladio 20/10® steel profi les characterized by this particular type of insulation method assure an unparalleled mechanical sturdiness and, due to the studies done on the slots, they limit the disper-sion of heat, thanks to the excellent air exchange that takes place inside them. According to the project requirements, it is possible to reach lower transmittance values than those prescribed by the rules on energy savings.

Questo sistema che di per sé garantisce ottimi valori di isolamento ter-mo-acustico, può essere ulteriormente sviluppato nelle performance con l’applicazione dello Scudo Termico Palladio®: il materiale isolante viene inserito direttamente lungo la superfi cie esterna del profi lo, in prima linea contro gli attacchi delle condizioni climatiche, e successivamente rivestito con una copertina di fi nitura.

This system guarantees by itself very good values of thermal and acoustic insulation; however its performance can be even improved by the use of Pal-ladio® Thermal Shield: the insulating material is inserted directly all along the external surface of the profi le, on the front line against any weather con-dition, and afterwards coated by the fi nishing treatment.

La combinazione di tutte queste applicazioni va ovviamente a migliorare in maniera esponenziale i requisiti di isolamento dell’intero infi sso.

The combination of all these applications clearly improves proportionally the insulation performance of the entire frame.

Il nuovo profi lo a taglio termico fi rmato Palladio® trae ispirazione dai principi della natura e utilizza come pro-tezione dal caldo e dal freddo il miglior isolante esistente: l’aria.

I profi li in acciaio e acciaio inox sono realizzati con delle asolature lungo tutta la superfi cie, studiate con forma e dimensioni tali da permettere il passaggio dell’aria necessaria ad ostacolare la trasmissione del calore o del freddo da una parte all’altra del profi lo. Il risultato è confermato da particolari test eseguiti presso il laboratorio di prova CERT, che hanno esaminato dettagliatamente il fenomeno del trasferimento di calore.

La conclusione non è quindi solo l’esito di una formula matematica: i profi li in acciaio Palladio 20/10® prodotti con questo partico-lare sistema di isolamento, assicurano una impareggiabile robustezza meccanica e, grazie agli studi eff ettuati sulle singole forature, contengono il percorso della dispersione del calore, grazie allo scambio d’aria che si verifi ca al loro interno in maniera ottimale. A seconda delle esigenze progettuali, è possibile raggiungere valori di trasmittanza inferiori ai limiti prescritti dalle normative sul risparmio energetico.

Il serramento realizzato con i nuovi, innovativi profi li a taglio termico di Palladio SpA diviene ventilato.

Il profi lo asolato è studiato per facilitare la circolazione dell’aria all’interno delle tubolarità del serramento, consentendo ai moti convettivi che si formano, di bloccare e disperdere il calore o il freddo proveniente dall’esterno. Questo ricircolo d’aria mantiene i vetri ed i profi li asciutti, evitando l’insorgere di corrosione, ossidazione e muff e. Gli stessi ambienti, in questo modo, risultano essere più salubri e diminuisce la percezione di freddo che normalmente si ha in prossimità di serramenti metallici.

Su richiesta, è possibile applicare sul serramento un sistema brevettato che funge da ventilazione controllata all’interno della stan-za. Pensato per aerare i locali in maniera sicura, senza il pericolo che entrino polveri, insetti, ladri e in assoluto isolamento acustico, questo sistema, manuale o automatico a seconda delle esigenze, diviene strategico per la messa in aerazione a fi nestra chiusa, specialmente laddove vi sia per lungo tempo l’impossibilità ad aprire porte e fi nestre.

The frame built with the new innovative Palladio® profi les becomes ventilated.

The slotted profi le is studied to ease the air circulation inside the tubular components of the frame, allowing the convective movements to stop or disperse the heat or the cold coming from outside. This air circulation keeps glasses and frames dry and prevents corrosion, oxidation and moulds. This way the rooms themselves will be healthier and the sensation of cold easily felt when close to metal windows is reduced.

Upon request it is possible to apply to the frame a patented system which works as a controlled ventilation inside the room. Designed to air the rooms safely, without concerns of pollutants, insects, thieves and with the utmost acoustic insulation, this system, manual or au-tomatic according to the needs, is strategic to the aeration with the window closed, in particular whenever it becomes impossible to open doors and windows for quite a long time.

The choice of Palladio 20/10® profi les means having profi les of the utmost thinness for an aesthetical noteworthy result.

Moreover, it means reaching such a structural stability to ensure the perfect functionality of the frame over time, fi tting very thick glasses with exceptional performances, guaranteeing protection against water, air, wind and reaching the proper safety standard against break-ins. Palladio® tubular profi les are the outcome of years of research for safety: every aspect, from the choice of the materials to the shape of the section, is planned and realized in order to guarantee the best performances and reach, when necessary, high standards of protection against bullets, explosion and Kalashnikov attacks.

Skill, knowledge and mastery in manufacture are decisive to transform the profi le into a steel frame with exceptional performances. Palla-dio 20/10® profi les successfully passed the anti-burglary tests Class 4 and 5, carried out in a trial laboratory by various experts by studying diff erent mock burglary attempts where diff erent means were used, from the simple but devastating crowbar to the more fearful hard lap tool.

Frames built by the rule book with these profi les that allow the closed joint produced the best results in terms of air tightness, resistance to the blows of wind and hermetic sealing against fl oods.

L’acciaio è ideale quando accoppiato con altri materiali: i robusti profi li tubolari Palladio®, con 2mm di spessore, hanno una stabilità impareggiabile, che assicura nel tempo inalterata funzionalità meccanica e permette così di poter applicare sia all’interno che all’esterno del serramento qualsiasi tipo di rivestimento, conformemente ai gusti della committenza e alle limitazioni ed esigenze estetiche imposte dalle sovrintendenze.

Una libertà mai vista prima nel plasmare l’estetica degli infi ssi con la ricercatezza degli arredi interni all’edifi cio, avendo magari all’esterno un’ambientazione e un risultato del tutto diversi. I rivestimenti sono applicabili in maniera semplice ed economica in qualsiasi momento sul profi lo in acciaio, e questo metodo si rivela essere strategico laddove vi sia la necessità di ripristinarli in caso di danneggiamento o per diverse esigenze estetiche.
