Enclosures Service – James Washburn Service Levels from Enclosures from both the Metering and Load Center plants at ITESA II continue to be high. The slight rise in days of demand plant can be attributed to a reduction in labor force that has changed output capacity in response to the continued soft market. Metering Demand History

If you have questions on availability, a listing of effected circuit breakers and an estimated availability date can be provided by National Customer Service and your Sales Support Centers. To find the items which are temporarily unavailable, there is a report in SAP that must be run to display the latest listing. This list will be updated weekly. Follow the steps listed below:

1. After logging on to SAP, enter the transaction code: /n/SIE/E_PP_TMPUNAVAIL 2. Enter "E130" for "Plant" 3. Enter "05" for "Status" 4. Leave "Plant status" blank and hit the Execute button.

The listing will show a listing of all temporarily unavailable items. To see the availability date, scroll to the right to the "Note" column and there will show a message such as "AVAILABLE AT THE DCS ON 7/25/2008".

Generators – James Washburn Training Upcoming Generator Training Classes are listed below: Installation Training: 6/16 Chicago, IL 7/20 Grand Island, NE Webinars: Intro to Generators – 6/18 Generator Sizing – 6/18 For more information on training or to schedule a class, please contact James Washburn Load Centers, Generators, AC Disconnects – James Washburn Riser Panels Residential will be launching newly redesigned Riser Panels in the coming weeks. The new design utilizes more common Load Center Components and features, making construction and procurement smoother. These Panels will be made on a Made-to-order basis as they are most commonly associated with large projects with advanced lead times. Literature will be created prior to launch and posted to the Load Centers Brochures Website. For samples please contact James Washburn. New catalog numbers are detailed below:

Murray Rock Solid Load Centers – AFCI Compatibility Because of the outboard neutral design employed by the Murray brand, many larger Load centers currently have a limited number of spaces that will accept AFCI breakers and have the 16” “pig tail” neutral connection reach the neutral bar. With the expansion of AFCI use associated with the 2008 NEC, more AFCI compatible locations are needed. Based on this limitation, RPD has added a second insulated neutral bar to many of the larger Rock Solid Load Centers. The two insulated neutral bars are connected by an insulated tie strap that passes behind the interior. There will be no changes in pricing or catalog numbers based on this design change. The changes will be implemented in late June and launched as existing inventory is depleted. Group Metering – Amanda Beaton To better serve our customers we will be pulling modular metering inventory out of the Columbus Distribution Center and using either Duluth or La Mirada moving forward. The inventory will be moved over the next 60 days. This will better fit the order volatility associated with the modular metering products and provide a more streamlined supply chain for our end users. Meter Combo’s, Breakers, Structured Wiring – Mark Pfaller 400A Meter Combos The new 400A meter mains and meter combos project continues to progress. 32 of the 38 new products have been completed and are in production. The remaining 6 products successfully completed testing for the new design and are now progressing toward production. Estimated ready date: 8/15/08. These 6 part numbers are now active in SAP and orders can be placed.

Award of Distinction (The 2nd highest Honor) for Marketing - Product This CD ROM is available through Banta (RPCD-WHSCD-0508) and is a good tool for anyone wanting to help drive use of AFCIs into the retrofit/remodel market. In addition to the CD ROM, we have also made the Whole House Safety Kit, which contains the CD ROM, available through Banta (RPFD-COMBO-0508).

Construction Market Update

This kit is consumer-focused and can be used as a tool by our contractors to encourage the use of AFCIs in retrofit/remodel work.

We continue to see sales declines in most regions. One region that had significant improvement in May was the Midwest region. Thanks for all of the effort in improving performance vs. previous months. Thanks to the Northeast region for their performance across all four categories and to the Southwest region for their Circuit Protection and Controls performance. Price performance was down slightly across most regions for PD&C/RPD combined. Residential price was slightly improved in all but the Southwest and Mid Atlantic, with the Mid Atlantic down substantially.

Remodeling activity peaked in 2006 before slowing last year. And it is expected to fall 4.8% this year, according to a report by the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies released last month. Since many homeowners remodel using borrowed money, tighter credit means it's also harder for many homeowners to afford big projects. Still, American homeowners will spend an estimated $166 billion on remodeling this year.
