Area Tours Program

Description

The Area Tours Program is an opportunity for businesses to partner with the Chamber, providing

potential candidates with a customized guided tour of Corning and the surrounding areas.

benefits

Statistics show that by implementing an Area Tours Program that respects a relocating employee’s

work-life balance during a move, you create happier employees, improve retention, and ensure a

transition that mutually benefits both the employee and the employer. The Area Tours Program is

designed to make your recruitment process easier, allowing the candidate to feel more at ease

during the relocation process.

When relocating, an employee’s social network is uprooted. Their families, friends and community

organizations are left behind. When a company implements and nurtures social communities,

ultimately they help their employees settle into their jobs and reach productive levels quicker, which

makes the Area Tours Program a vital part of the recruiting process.

Program Process

An Area Tours Specialist is an experienced, highly trained and professional tour guide.

• They will connect with your candidate prior to their interview, ensuring that they professionally

customize the tour to meet exactly what your candidate’s needs and desires are.

• A menu is sent to the candidate, giving them a variety of options to choose from. Some of the

options include: Culture, Entertainment, Education, Childcare, Recreation, Residential, Shopping

and Special Needs. Candidates can also select special areas of interest, focusing on Corning or

other regional points of interest.

• The customized tour is then planned and scheduled. Tours have included, but are not limited to,

stops at CMOG, Rockwell, Schools, Daycare Facilities, Colleges, and Fitness Facilities. Many

candidates choose to familiarize themselves with the housing markets and communities through

visiting a vast selection of different residential options. The Information Center partners with an

area rental car agency to ensure a clean, reliable and comfortable tour. Candidates are

picked up and dropped off at the desired location.

• Once the tour is complete, the candidate will receive a survey via email. This provides an

opportunity for feedback from the candidate and ensure top notch Area Tours Specialists.
