The asthma theme is highlighted by our three lead review articles: Our Clinical Management review series continues with Matthew C. Bell and William W. Busse (p. 110) comprehensively reviewing the clinical mani- festations and management options for patients with severe asthma. In our rst Grand Rounds review, Andrew G. Weinstein (p. 123) presents a patient with asthma for whom adherence barriers were identied and addressed and then provides a summary of the various types of adherence barriers and their recommended interventions. Stephen P. Peters (p. 129) provides the rst installment of our Chief Complaint Review Series, in which he describes examples of several patients presenting with dyspnea and discusses a practical, systematic approach to the clinical evaluation of this common symptom.
