“In Norway, we sailed into this majestic fjord and the captain sent
out a small boat to get speciality crêpes from a tiny, famous crêperie
in this little nearby town… We had delicious, fresh strawberry
crêpes for the whole ship! These little surprises that keep
happening along the way — it’s what I love!”

This region of our world evokes a unique sense
of reverence and fascination, from the cradle of
civilisation to the Cape of Good Hope. Ancient

legendary hospitality have long drawn voyagers
to the interconnected regions of Africa
and Arabia.
Nestled in the KwaZulu-Natal hills of
South Africa, explore the Tala Game Reserve,

Enjoying the stylish accommodations and
generous charm of African hospitality is the
perfect preface to a guided safari in search of
many of Africa’s big game animals like buffalo,
rhino, kudu, hippo and giraffe, as well as the
rare opportunity to spot a sable antelope or
leopard. Inhale the fragrant wild sage on a
savanna breeze as you observe and interact
with the animals and environment. Capture a
sense of oneness with nature to refresh your
spirit and cleanse your mind.
To the northeast, uncover a very different
connection with the world amongst the fabled

The untamed tundra, rugged shores, and
glacier-laden mountain ranges of the Alaskan
coast create awe-inspiring opportunities for even
the most experienced travellers. Traverse remote
reaches of the 17 million acre Tongass temperate
rainforest, paddling a traditionally styled canoe
across a highland lake and scanning the dense
foliage along the shore for a glimpse of the
abundant wildlife. Hike through lush meadows to
mountain outlooks where waterfalls and
wildflowers will take your breath away as bald
eagles soar through the valley below.
Turn toward the coast in Sitka for an ocean raft
adventure, travelling at speeds reaching 80 km/h
as you fly over ocean swells, outfitted in full
Coast Guard-style exposure gear on the open
seating of an AR1. Get close to whales and sea
otters en route to the ravaged volcanic coastline
of Kruzof Island, where a maze of cliffs and sea
caves awaits exploration.
Enjoy learning to cook Alaskan cuisine at an
outdoor seafood grill, gaining hands-on
experience and masterful cooking instruction
from a local expert. Grill locally caught seafood
over the aromatic alder wood and savour the
feast that you have created. Take the nature tram
from Icy Strait Point through towering stands of
virgin spruce and hemlock to arrive at a rustic
theatre and watch the native Tlingit Indians
perform a spellbinding tribal dance. The arts of
the native people of this region, with their
signature totem pole designs and many skillful
crafts, reveal the spirit of this remote and
remarkable corner of the world.
Cruise through Disenchantment Bay to the sheer,
icy face of the 122 km long, 121 metres high
Hubbard Glacier and redefine your definition of
wonder. Visually trace the path of the ice flow
down the mountain valleys from the jagged,
snowcapped peaks in the distance and watch

Few places in the world can hold a candle to

YANGON, MYANMARSHWEDAGON BY NIGHT TOUR
Yangon’s oldest pagoda, the Shwedagon, is believed to date back 2,500 years. This pagoda is said to contain eight hairs of the Buddha, but before you get a glimpse of any of its interior treasures, look up toward its gold-plated dome and you will see that it is topped by more than 7,000 diamonds, rubies, topaz and sapphires, plus a massive emerald positioned to reflect the last rays of the setting sun. While the history of Shwedagon is shrouded in mystery, the pagoda is without doubt the most revered pagoda in the region. You can’t help but be awed by its magnificence.

Few places in the world capture the essence
of spirited adventure more than Australia and
New Zealand. These Southern Hemisphere
frontiers are famous for the ruggedness of their
wilderness, the uniqueness of their native plant
and animal species and the charming, friendly
hospitality of their people.
Start exploring with an expedition into the
urban wonders of Australia’s most renowned city,
set between the mighty waters of the Pacific and
the tantalising and untamed territories of the
continent’s great Outback. From the billowing
domes of the iconic Sydney Opera House to the
relaxed waterfront walkways in Manly, Sydney is a
beautiful metropolis that’s home to a vibrant
culture, white sand beaches, fantastic shopping
and some of the best dining south of the equator.
To the north, experience the jumping crocodiles
of Darwin and witness the wonder of the Great
Barrier Reef through a visit to Townsville and
Reef HQ, a two-storey tall aquarium outfitted
with a clear tunnel that allows you to observe the
largest living coral reef in the world.
Find another kind of austere beauty in Australia’s
interior with a trip to Ayers Rock, known in the
indigenous language as Uluru. This mysterious
and ancient rock formation emerges from
Australia’s most remote desert plains like a rogue
wave on the sea, looming more than 335 metres
over the flatlands in one gigantic, unbroken
prominence. Take a tour of the sheer red rock
faces to learn how eons of weathering and
continental upheaval have created this
monument and discover the ancient spiritual
and cultural significance that brings this natural
wonder to life. Then visit Kantju Gorge, where
ages of past rainfall have created a giant’s
playground of rock formations, pools and
waterfalls. Enjoy evening drinks and canapés as
the sun sets and the glorious colours of Uluru
intensify into radiant hues of red and orange.
Voyage further Down Under to discover the living
natural wonders of a different island frontier: New
Zealand. This island chain is home to a menagerie
of unique bird, plant and animal species found
nowhere else on earth. Venture to one of the

COOKTOWN, AUSTRALIAFRONTIER WILDERNESS & LEGENDARY VOYAGE
Scenically located on Cape York Peninsula in Far North Queensland, Cooktown is the site of Australia’s first European settlement. Named for famous explorer Captain Cook, who landed his ship The Endeavor there in 1770, Cooktown is known for its pristine beaches, waterfalls, hidden gardens, and magnificent mountain views. Cruise the Endeavor River for a look at dozens of species of mangroves and a nearby rainforest. Along the way, you’ll see crocodiles on the riverbank, sea eagles flying overhead and colourful lorikeets, sunbirds and orioles emerging from the trees. Continue exploring with a trip to Black Mountain, a huge pile of granite rocks precariously stacked upon each other. Created by erosion, it was thought to be sacred by local Aboriginal tribes.
