These controls will permit the desired aisle to open automatically regardless of the position of the carriages. Upon completion of an aisle opening, the control system will automatically create a safety “aisle lockout.” Release of the safety aisle lockout (which is required to move another range) is accomplished via a manual reset switch also located on the control panel. Stop switches are provided for on each carriage which, when activated, stop all carriage movement. Any stop switch will stop all carriage movement regardless of location in the module. Dual access controls (if applicable) are identical in appearance and operation as standard controls. Limit switches are provided to stop carriages at predetermined points of travel, minimize stopping impact and reduce vibration to stored materials.7.1 Power failure override circuitry and receptacles are provided with all carriage controllers. In the event of a power failure, carriages can be moved with a battery pack.7.2 A battery pack is used in conjunction with the standard power failure override circuitry on the carriage controller. The battery pack will move one carriage at a time at the nominal speed of 1 inch/second.7.3 The battery pack is sealed in a polymer enclosure containing a toggle switch (set in the off position) switchable (in either direction) only after activation. The battery pack-to carriage cord should be stored in the enclosure when not in use. The battery pack is protected by a 1 AMP Slo-Blo fuse; polarized connections and a diode that will ensure against reverse connection. Manufacture provides a Steel overhead pantograph style

raceway assembly containing power and control wiring. Raceway extends no higher than 3” above the shelving canopy tops and can extend up to 60” to accommodate an access aisle.SAFETY8.0 All safety controls are UL listed and CSA certified. All wiring is concealed and shall comply with the requirements of the National Electric Code. After the activation of any safety device, all movable carriages will come to a complete stop. Each movable carriage will be equipped with two safety sweeps at a distance not to exceed 3-1/2” above the floor. 8.3 Steel chain covers or end panels (20gauge) are supplied as specified. The chaincover shall cover only the exposed chaindrive mechanism while the steel end panelwill be the full height and width of theupright. SAFETY FEATURES9.0 All carriages are equipped with apush/pull safety handle parking lock as astandard feature. The lock, when engaged,utilizes a (reinforced) dual pin insertion con-cept that will expose a red indicator to showthe carriage is in the lock down mode.9.1 Carriage end stops are provided for sys-tems without stationary units.9.2 A "safety space" is provided between endpanels by the use of 3/4" carriage bumpers;this provides protection for the fingers ofthose using the system and provides a pos-itive stop for all carriages.ATTACHMENT OF SHELVING10.0 Carriage construction is designed tofacilitate the secure anchoring of most allshelving styles to the carriages with highperformance tek screws. SYSTEM ACCESSORIES / OPTIONS11.0 Seismic options / specifications areavailable upon request.11.1 Optional security key lock to secureone carriage or entire system. 11.2 Back panels, end caps and miscella-neous finishing pieces are available.11.3 Two cardholders (for 3 x 5 index cards)are included with each carriage. Four card-holders are supplied for dual access sys-tems.QUALITY CONTROL12.0 All systems are checked at the factory,prior to shipment, to ensure high quality andan uninterrupted field installation.12.1 All necessary parts and fasteners areprovided in shipment to ensure a proper andsafe installation.12.2 All mobile systems will be installed byfactory trained technicians.INSTALLATION STANDARDS13.0 Install, level (and grout tracks whenappropriate) directly to a properly preparedfloor.13.1 Install carriages, end panels (if applica-ble) and shelving as shown on the drawings,complete and ready for owner use.13.2 All installation companies are factorycertified.CLEAN UP 14.0 All debris and excess materials result-ing from installation will be removed and theconstruction area left in a broom clean con-dition.WARRANTY 15.0 Warranty is 5 years on materials andtwo years on workmanship.

Key: Flanged Guide Wheel (G) Flat Wheel (F)

Formula to Determine Anti-Tip:

CARRIAGE WIDTH DIVIDED BY SYSTEM HEIGHT= "A"

Where:Carriage width = shelving depth + 1/4"System Height = shelving height + carriage height + 1/2"

If System Height is less than 96", "A" must be greater than .25If System Height is 96" or greater, "A" must be greater than .3

EXAMPLE

1. Tennsco shelving 24"D x 881/4" H on a high profile carriage:Carriage width = 24" + 1/4" = 241/4"System height = 881/4 + 5" + 1/2" = 933/4"

"A" = 241/4" divided by 933/4" = .258THEREFORE ANTI-TIP IS NOT REQUIRED
