What would you read in the

magazine?I asked a group of students from my sixth form

what they would like to find out from my

magazine, my results appeared very uneven. I

have decided to use the more popular options.

The most popular options were upcoming events,

gossip, celebrity news and changes in college. I

would like to relate all of these to local areas. For

example, upcoming events in Brigg/North

Lincolnshire and local changes to different

colleges.

Colour Scheme

Again my results were very inconclusive, so

again I have decided to use the more popular

colours chosen by the students.

The main colours were blue, red, navy and white.

I would use these colours for my house style.

They are a good group of colours and I think they

may work well together but not all on the same

issue at the same time.

Font Styles

For this I briefed what styles it would be, I gave

them the option of bold, easily readable, colourful

and fancy. After doing this I then created a sheet

with different font styles and also allowed the

students to chose.

The most popular three were large, colourful and

bold. I have then taken this and chose a very

clear and bold font to use for mastheads and

subtitles.

Magazine Name

Furthermore I allowed students to write their own

idea of what my magazine should be called it

was a very easy decision as every student wrote

the same.

I decided to stick to what the students had asked

for and called my magazine ‘College Life’

I allowed students to chose there own as with the

other questions there was already a list of

answers. I felt that this may be beneficial to

them.

What images would you

like to see? Most students agreed that they would like to see

images of sixth form students in my magazine,

they also agreed they would like to local areas.

I think this will work well as it will be based

around the North Lincolnshire area and it will

stick to this theme.

My front cover will contain two students from our

sixth form and also I will add a secondary picture

of a local scene.

Agony Aunt?

I gave the students an option about whether they

would like to add their own personal opinions. I

had an equal answer for both. I have decided to

add this option. This will allow certain students to

add their own voice.
