U.S. Representative John C. Fleming, M.D. has repre-sented Louisiana’s 4th Congressional district since 2009.
It encompasses most of the western side of the state, rang-
ing from Caddo to St. Landry. It is also home to Barksdale
Air Force Base and Fort Polk/Joint Readiness Training
Center, two of our country’s leading military bases.
Growing up in a blue-collar family John was taught the
value of hard work. He worked his way through college at the University of Mississippi and later attended medical
school on a Navy scholarship. John then served six years
as a Medical Officer.
After his time in the Navy, John moved to Minden with his wife Cindy where he opened a medical practice that is still
running today. Since then he has also started several non-
medical businesses that provide numerous jobs for the
community.
In the House of Representatives, John serves on two House Committees: Armed Services
and Natural Resources where he is Chairman of the Subcommittee on Water, Power and
Oceans.
John and his wife Cindy have been married for 37 years and have four children and three
grandchildren.
Representative John Fleming, M.D.
Atlanta Convention Plans
Larry Evensky and Gene Richardson, our Atlanta Convention co-chairs, are re-
viewing hotel accommodations and will have recommendations for our group
soon. Our bus charter will deliver and pick up
at only one hotel. Rotary will provide free shut-
tles from the approved hotels to the convention
center. It will be recommended that you make
your reservations through the Convention web
site as soon as we have our committee’s recom-
mendations as we will need to give first, second
and third choices. More information to come.
