And just like that we have reached the last week of Term 1. The last ten weeks have absolutely flown by and our
students have learnt so much. Parent teacher interviews have been held this term to give everyone input into student
learning goals for the coming weeks and we are working hard to ensure all students are successful.
NEW STRATEGIC IMPROVEMENT PLAN – 2021-2024
I am excited to say that our new Strategic Improvement Plan has now been completed. This will drive the direction of
the school over the next four years and has been developed with input from students, staff, parents/carers and
members of the community, including consultation with representatives of Minimbah AECG. Our three strategic
directions are:
Student growth and attainment - focusing on Reading and Numeracy
Personalised pathways – focusing on Data and Feedback
Partners in learning – focusing on Attendance and Wellbeing
Our focus on improved Reading and Numeracy outcomes for all students remains one of our top priorities as we look to
prepare them for life after school and give them choices about what they want to do when they become adults.
COLOUR RUN – RESCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY 31ST MARCH
We are excited to announce our Colour Run which had to be postponed earlier this term due to the rain, has been
rescheduled for this Wednesday 31st March. Students may come to school in their white t-shirts, shorts/trackpants and
fully enclosed running shoes rather than school uniform on the day. Sunglasses will be provided for the students during
the race to protect their eyes. The event will be held on the bottom oval with families welcome to watch from outside
the fence as the course will take up most of the oval. Our proposed timetable is as follows:
1:35pm - 1:45pm Pre-school will run with Year 4 buddies around the course
Biyangbiyaang Preschoolers who have paid for the Colour Run are welcome to join the Arbin group and attend as long
as their parents stay to take them home as soon as their race is completed
1:50pm - 2:10pm K-2 run
2:15pm - 2:35pm Yrs 3-6 run
Fingers crossed the weather will be nicer to us this time and don’t need to postpone due to rain. We are looking
forward to a fantastic event!
EASTER HAT PARADE – THURSDAY 1ST APRIL
To finish off a fantastic term of learning we will be holding our Easter Hat Parade this Thursday 1st April at 1.45pm on
the basketball court. Family members are asked not to enter the school grounds until after 1.30pm as students will be
out at recess until then. All students have been given the opportunity to make their Easter hats during class time so no
work or preparation is needed at home for families and students are to wear normal school uniform as usual on the
day. Some seating will be available around the edge of the basketball court for visitors with children from each class
parading around the edge of the court for everyone to see. The P&C Raffle will be drawn earlier in the day with winners
notified via Facebook and phone so that prizes can be picked up that afternoon at Milabah.
Have a safe and happy Easter everyone!
