Sheet Brake / Sheet Slowdowns

For optimal braking performance. Suction tapes have a

direct impact on the braking performance of a press, and

therefore determine how safely and reliably printing sheets

are delivered. Different suction tapes are needed depending

on the type of application and the machine’s speed – which

is why it is important to know how to choose the tape with

the correct stabilization profile.

large variety of suction tapes for Speedmaster®, covering a

broad range of applications. Whatever width or dimensions

required, whether rough or smooth surfaces, we have the

right suction tape for every printing material, every

production speed and every type of substrate.

Original Heidelberg suction tapes are manufactured using

special synthetic materials – a highly flexible microcellular

polyurethane with damping characteristics particularly suited

for fragile material. This makes them very flexible and resistant

to wear. All of the tapes share the same consistently high sheet

holding force, which results in minimal marking and the highest

precision in the guidance of the printing sheets – even at full

press speed.

Rating Groups:

A: Highest Group (Hardness: hard/braking efficiency: high)

B: Medium Group (Hardness: flexible/braking efficiency: flexible)

C: Lowest Group (Hardness: soft/braking efficiency: reduced)

To further differentiate inside the groups A,B,C on a more detailed basis, the criteria is further divided into 11 groups: A++ highest Ranking / C-- lowest Ranking. Please note, that the +/- ratings cannot be used to compare between groups. An A is always better than a B rating, regardless the +/- information. The +/- rating is only in place to differentiate inside a group (ex. Inside the group B) on a more detailed level.

process; it is important for the customer to use the correct sheet brakes and to replace their brakes in a timely fashion.
