Special Issue on
Reconfigurable and Adaptive Computing (RECAD)
International Journal of Electronics (IJE)
ISSN: 0020-7217
Introduction
Reconfigurable computing techniques and adaptive systems have attracted great interest as
one of the most promising architectures for microprocessors. The origin of reconfigurablesystems, programmable logic devices or FPGAs, has evolved into today's complex
system-on-chip FPGAs, dynamically reconfigurable FPGAs, and furthermore a variety of
state-of-the-art adaptive computing devices. Numerous approaches have been conducted to
explore more creditable metrics beyond raw performance, such as flexibility, dependability,
low-power, etc. The objective of this special issue is to introduce and demonstrate the latest
research activities on hardware architecture for reconfigurable and adaptive computing
systems. Besides, papers on actual applications of FPGA based case studies and lessons
learned from case studies and experimental researches are also welcome.
Thus, the Francis & Taylor International Journal of Electronics (IJE) announces aforthcoming special issue on Reconfigurable and Adaptive Computing (RECAD) to be
published in 2013. We invite submissions of original and unpublished papers, which review
and promote recent progress in the field of Reconfigurable Systems.
Authors are invited to submit original papers, and the topics of interest include but are not
limited to:
Architecture framework for Reconfigurable and Adaptive Systems,
Heterogeneous Architectures, Leverage of FPGA and GPU
Instruction Set Extension for Adaptive Processors
Rapid Prototyping using FPGAs and CPLDs
Dynamically and Partial Reconfigurable Methodologies
Virtual Hardware, Evolvable Hardware, Adaptive Hardware
Device and Circuit Technologies for Reconfigurable and Adaptive Systems
Low Power and Energy Consumption
Dependable and Fault Tolerance for Reconfigurable Circuits and Systems
System Software for Reconfigurable and Adaptive Systems
Design Methodologies, Test, and Verification for Reconfigurable Systems
Emerging Applications of Reconfigurable and Adaptive Technology, including digitalsignal processing, bioinformatics applications, etc
