ROAD_IT project

Objectives: • The development and implementation of a robust IT

architecture with digital portal that accomplishes communication between all relevant existing (and expandable to future) data input and output points for the production and paving processes in asphalt road construction.

• Interfaces and protocols are developed which are used as communication and standardization tools between the various heterogeneous sensors and data points, each with their specific properties (firmware, interface, measurement units, accuracy, ...).

• Through 4 documented proofs or concepts from the asphalt sector (Use Cases), elaborated and implemented in this project, the operation of the IT architecture and the portal is demonstrated.

• Knowledge flow to the sector.

Also process management and long term policy will become more important
