● Symbioses are classified by which species benefits from the relationship.

● Four main types of Symbiosis:○ Mutualism○ Commensalism○ Parasitism○ Predation

MutualismA relationship in which BOTH species benefit.

Examples:

● Bees & the flowers they pollinate.● Oxpecker & Zebra (parasites, warning calls)● Humans & Plants●

ParasitismA relationship in which one organism (parasite) feeds on the living body of the other organism.

CommensalismA relationship in which one organism benefits and the other is unaffected.
