FeaturesFixed Frame• Sections: 63 mm module squarecut assembled by screws and screw sockets (stainless steel screws)• Weatherproofing: by EPDM or polyethylene brush gaskets on upright sections and each horizontal transom.
Water drainage via bottom transom• Fastening: to the building structure by clip-in capping section• Outside sill/architrave: directly by clipping into the grooves in the fixed frame• Accommodates fly screen on front of frame
Frame Finishes• There is a wide selection of frame colours to choose from. The aluminium components are available in three
surface finishes – powder coated, high performance powder coated and anodised.• Selecting the correct finish for your environment and ongoing maintenance are critical to the appearance of
the finish.
Louvres• Sections: curved aluminium or glass louvres fitted with nylon end caps, open to 80°, interval of 135 mm• Weatherproofing: by EPDM gasket on each louvre• Infill system: U-shaped EPDM gasket for glass louvres,• Combination of glass and aluminium louvres are possible
Glass Louvre Selection• Almost any glass can be selected provided the thickness is 6mm or 6.38mm. In warm climates tinted glass can
help to reduce solar heat gain, whereas in colder areas, low e glass helps to reduce heat loss.• In float and toughened glass we offer standard clear, grey, green and bronze options. Acid etched toughened
(frosted) is also available as a standard option.
Aluminium Louvre Selection• Aluminium louvres have a width of 135mm and can be treated with the same finishes as the aluminium frame.
Operation• Operated by lever handles or knobs for symmetric and simultaneous opening of louvres to 80°• Louvre opening system by rods fitted with pins that directly operate the louvre end caps• Spring-loaded compensator for easy operation of louvres according to dimensions
VariantsInstallation of fixed frame either:• on bottom transom only,• on single inside sill section,• on inside sill section with trim

PerformanceAustralian Standards• Australian Standard AS2047 specifies mandatory /minimum standards for windows
and JX Louvre Windows easily meet these requirements.• All window manufacturers are required to label their windows with their identification, window rating
and water penetration resistance.
• The following table is taken from a Key Message published by the Australian Window Association.• N & C (Normal & Cyclonic) wind ratings only apply to Housing as defined in the NCC (National Construction
Code) previously the BCA (Building Code of Australia).• For Housing AS2047: Appendix D states the purchaser should nominate the window ratings when ordering
window assemblies. These are the N & C ratings as per AS 2047 or AS4055.
• For all other buildings, the purchaser should nominate the design wind pressures for the window assemblies when ordering the windows. This means nominating the ULS (Ultimate Limit State) and SLS (Serviceability Limit State) pressures as per AS2047 and AS/NZ1170.2. This could be a site engineer, builder or building designer providing the information.

Windborne Debris Impact LoadingAustralian Standard AS/NZ1170.2 clause 2.5.7 specifies requirements for windborne debris impact loading criteria. Safetyline Jalousie glass blade louvres were tested for Debris Type B (8mm steel ball missile). Debris Type B in the Australian Standard calls for an 8mm steel ball. We fired 5 x 8mm steel balls to conform to the higher requirements of cyclone shelters in North Queensland (all test were done with 5 balls). We achieved the following results: Debris Type B Pass at 45 meters per second (highest Australian Standard) and exceeded standard and pass at 60 meters per second with 5 x 8mm steel balls.

Window Energy Rating Scheme (WERS)• The aim of the WERS is to provide a rating to evaluate the relative energy performance of
different types of windows.• Safetyline Jalousie is a member of the Window Energy Rating Scheme.• JX Louvre Windows have been tested and the result are available on request or by visting the WERS website.
Acoustic PerformanceSound proofing of windows can sometimes be overlooked until the noise disturbs you. Whether it’s from traffic, aircraft, trains or even neighbours, unwanted noise can be minimised.
The sound insulation of windows refers to the ability of a closed window to reduce external noise entering your building.
JX Louvre Windows have been designed with acoustic performance in mind and with the right glass selection, sound reduction of up 32dB is achievable.
Single octave testing results are shown in the table below.

Guarantee
Safetyline Jalousie is a member of the Australian Window Association and as such conforms to an Industry Code of Conduct designed to protect consumers.
Safetyline Jalousie is inspected by independent third party NATA accredited auditors to validate that the window products examined have been manufactured to the relevant Australian Standards and the legislative requirements of the National Construction Code of Australia.
6 Year GuaranteeGuarantee additional to legal rights. This Guarantee is provided in addition to any warranty or guarantee imposed by law and in particular the guarantees implied by the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth). In no way does this Guarantee seek to exclude or limit any right or remedy you have in law. However to the extent that is permitted by law any other warranties or guarantees are excluded. For the purpose of this warranty “the product” means a window product ordinarily manufactured and sold by the manufacturer.
Subject to the conditions and limitations below, Safetyline Jalousie guarantees that its products are of acceptable quality and free of any defect caused by the manufacturer.
LimitationsThis warranty does not apply to:
a) Moving parts – a three year warranty will apply on moving parts which wear out as part of normal use;b) Electrical Components – a one year warranty will apply on all electrical components;c) Parts supplied by other manufacturers as separate components and where such components are warranted
or guaranteed by its manufacturer or supplier those guaranties or warranties whether express or implied are assigned to whom the goods are supplied;
d) Cosmetic damage;e) Damage caused by accident, misuse, transport, installation or any external cause;f) Failure to install, use and operate the product in a way that is not in accordance with the manufacturer’s
instructions, good building practice, relevant building standards or a use for which the product has not been designed or recommended by the manufacturer.
g) Service work that is carried out by other than the Safetyline Jalousie or authorised Safetyline Jalousie agents.
Warranty ClaimsShould you wish to make a claim under this guarantee you are required to first notify the manufacturer. Other than as provided by law, the manufacturer will repair or replace the product to the extent that it is functionally equivalent to the product supplied but excludes any installation costs. Where a product has been repaired or replaced, this warranty shall apply to the repaired or replaced product for the balance of the period provided by this guarantee.

Installation & Maintenance
Safetyline Jalousie products are manufactured from the most suitable materials and finishes available to the specification provided and when properly maintained will give many years of quality service. Failure to maintain may void the warranty.
Builders / home owners please note:When installing windows there are some precautions you should take to ensure that the products will retain their ex-factory condition until installation is complete and the job handed over. Refer to the manufacturers’ documents or the AWA Installation and Fixing Guides for instructions.
AluminimumExternal window frames should be washed with clean water. If the product is exposed to salt air or industrial pollutants it should be washed at least every three (3) months. In rural areas where normally there is very little contaminated moisture you may not need to clean your aluminium fittings more than every six (6) months.
Aluminium requires only minimal maintenance but, like your motor car, the finish may deteriorate if dirt collects on the surface and is allowed to remain unwashed over a period of time. This is because dirt absorbs moisture present in the atmosphere.
To clean aluminium use the mildest treatment you can to produce satisfactory results. Start with warm water and soap or detergent or for anodized material try solvent cleaners (e.g. kerosene, turpentine, white spirit) or non-etching chemical cleaners or a wax based polish cleaner. Keep water free from dirt and grit and ensure that the weep slots in the window are clear to allow maximum drainage.
GlassTo clean, simply wipe over the surface with a few drops of methylated spirits on a damp cloth and then polish the surface dry with a lint free cloth. Proprietary glass cleaners are not recommended as some can cause damage to the silver backing on mirrors and the interlayer in laminated glass. Ensure that all cleaning cloths are free of any abrasive substances. Avoid causing extreme temperature changes as this may lead to thermal fracture of the glass (do not direct hot or cold water onto glass).
Name plates and identification platesPlease leave name plates, part numbers and rating labels on products for future reference. A permanent performance label is a requirement of the BCA in all states and territories of Australia.

Standard Heights - Glass Louvres
• Wherever possible standard heights should be used.• Should standard heights not be used a cut down blade is required. If this blade is less than 60mm the opening
would need to be adjusted to standard heights.• Each lever will only lift a number of louvres depending on the type and length. (Refer chart in this section)• Where one louvre meets the other and a new lever is required an intermediate transom is used which is
marginally wider than the normal blade holder and the louvre above that join is 20mm smaller.

Motor Operated LouvresSafetyline Jalousie louvre windows can be motor controlled and integrated with climate control systems or other sensor activated control systems. Motors can be supplied by Safetyline Jalousie or sourced from a third party.
Safetyline Jalousie is currently able to supply a choice of three motors correctly installed by the factory. Louvre Drive LDF100 and S200 are mounted externally on the frame for easy maintenance. Louvre Drive Ulysses is installed and concealed inside the frame.
Connection to control systems should be arranged separately by a third party specialist to achieve the desired outcome.
Louvre Drive LDF 100
Louvre drive LDF 100 has been specially designed for infinitely variable electrical control of louvres.
• All drive functions, characteristics and stroke length are individually programmable via Software
• Equipped with additional passive and active anti pitch function
• Useable for smoke ventilation
• Fire resistance (30 minutes/300°C)
