Move the parking brake on ENGAGE position.

Ensure the dump body is empty before the machine is jacked up.

Ensure the dump body has been lowered down.

Stop the engine, remove the key and keep it.

Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and ensure machines have been isolated from power sources before jacking up the machinery.

Inspect hydraulic jack. Use correct hydraulic jack that can support the weight of the machine. Ensure there’s no leaking and in working condition.

Inspect wooden blocks and ensure there’s no sign of severe damage.

Place wooden blocks or wheel chocks to prevent vehicle from rolling.

Due to height limitation of some hydraulic jacks, wooden block may be place in between the firm ground and hydraulic jack. Inspect wooden blocks and ensure the wooden block’s surface is not slippery/oily and ensure there’s no sign of termite attack/cracked/ decayed/ split/rot or any sign of severe damage on the timber which may pose risk of failure while jacking up the dumper truck. Only use wooden block that is no less then 500mm in length and 250mm in width as support.

Set hydraulic jack and wooden block on firm level ground. If 2 wooden blocks are needed

to support the hydraulic jack, ensure the lower wooden block is bigger or as of the same size with the upper wooden block and is aligned straight upright.

2. Operation:

Conduct pre-operational checks on the air compressor.

Hook up air hose from the air compressor to the hydraulic jack.

Press lever/switch to raise the hydraulic jack.

Do not stand beside the machinery while jacking up the machinery. Stand 2 metres away at

ensure there’s no sign of termite attack/cracked/ decayed/ split/rot or any sign of severe damage on the timber which may pose risk of failure while jacking up the dumper truck. Only use wooden block that is no less then 500mm in length and 250mm in width as support.

Set the support stand on top of the wooden block(s) and (if applicable) place wooden piece or block on top of the support stand to protect undercarriage and to prevent it from slipping or damage.

Besides the main support stand below the front axle/ frame or rear axle/ frame, extra support stand may be place if needed to ensure stability.

Once all supports are in place, lower the hydraulic jack until the machine is firmly supported by the support stands and wooden blocks. Ensure the machine is stable before proceeding to do any maintenance and servicing work on the machine.

3. POST-Operation:

Inspect work area and ensure no one is working on top and below the machinery.

Set hydraulic jack and wooden block on firm level ground. If 2 wooden blocks are needed to support the hydraulic jack, ensure the lower wooden block is bigger or as of the same size with the upper wooden block and is aligned straight upright.

Hook up air hose to the hydraulic jack.

Do not stand beside the machinery while jacking up the machinery. Stand 2 metres away at the front or back of the machinery to escape in case of the machinery topple down.

Press lever/switch to raise the hydraulic jack.

Remove away all the supports (support stands and wooden blocks).

Press lever/switch to lower down the hydraulic jack.

Remove LOTO tag.

Remove wheel chocks from vehicle.
