China is the first pork production and consumption in the world,

the pig industry is the mainstay of livestock industry.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, 313 million pigs were

slaughtered in the first half of 2019, 6.2% lower than previous year.

The number of live pigs in stock was 348 million, 15.0% lower

than previous year.

According to the China pig network Statistics, Pig price fastly rise in 2019 . There are

three main reasons for the rise in pork prices: Firstly, The ASFV outbreak, The number

of live pigs in and out of the market decreased. Second, some areas of pig breeding ban,

limit raising, Small-scale farmers reduced. The third is the "pig cycle", pig stock and

slaughter decrease, and lead to meat prices rise.

Pigs are mainly raised in central and southern China. In recently years, some the large

modern companies in the northeast, Inner Mongolia and northwest developed the pig

breeding. And swine breeding model coexist large scale farms, middle and backyard.

Different pig farm scales and different managements also lead to the complexity of

prevention and control diseases.

• 158 reported cases in 31 provinces in China from 2018 to 2019. Among 153 cases in pigs, and 4

cases in Wild boar. Sick pigs 19493, death pigs 13252, death and culling pigs 112.76 ten thousands.

From January to October 2019, there are 58 report cases, especially , Since August, 8 cases were

reported , we think the epidemic of African swine fever in China is gradually become stable.

• PRRSV is still major swine disease, especially NADC30-Like infection in swine herds.

The new PRRSV strains were isolated from Chinese swine herds more than

22 provinces in China. 131AA discontinuous deletions were observed in Nsp2

of PRRSV, they were named like–NADC30. they shared 93.6%-97%

homology with 08USNADC30, a representative strain of NADC30.

CSFV epidemic situation

CSF is still present in most provinces and regions of China. Its occurrences are

endemic and sporadic.

The phylogenetic tree showed that all Chinese isolates belong to group 1 and

group 2,while no group 3 isolate was identified. Further analysis indicated these

isolates were divided into different subgroups.
