Last year was the first time that Shannon attended CARIFTA and she surprised us all. She was

the last person to qualify for the team but once at the meet dropped lots of time and made finals

in several events. This year she has consistently raced very fast and fresh off her record swims at

Best of Best #2 she will be one to watch at this year’s CARIFTA.

Aaron Rego (12)

# 92 Men 11-12 50 Free 33.56L

Aaron waited until his last opportunity to get his second qualifying time. The excitement that hehad after reaching that time and being selected for the CARIFTA team showed what he is all

about. This will be his first opportunity at CARIFTA and it will be a great experience for him at

this level of competition.

Jesse Washington will be competing in his second CARIFTA Swimming Championships. Last

year Jesse went from barely qualifying times to destroy all his times and making it into several

finals. From that moment he has had his sights set on what he would do at this year’s

CARIFTA. This season he has been busy re-writing the record books for the 11&12 age group.

This meet will be very interesting for Jesse. He has the potential to do something very special.

Madelyn Moore (11)

As the youngest member of this year’s team makes her first trip to CARIFTA, Maddie will be

aiming to continue her fine local form into this regional competition. Her times in recent meets

are showing her strong ability, and we hope to see her really flourish in Bahamas.
