Under the celebration of “National Nutrition Week”-2017 The Department of Sports
Nutrition- Swarnim Gujarat Sports University- Gandhinagar celebrated sports nutrition cooking
competition-2017 on 7th of September-2017, Thursday between 12 pm to 3 pm. In which the
department of physical education’s students, department of advance training & coaching students
and department of sports management and sports training students actively participated. There
were 3 groups were presented in which there were 4 students accordingly.
The coordinator and the organizer Dr. Nishita Baxi-
(Sports Nutritionist, Department of Sports Nutrition-
SGSU-Gandhinagar) gave 4 recipes to all the group’s
contestants for the preparation. The name of the
recipes was the same given to all the participants. The
inauguration was done by Resp. Dr. Jatin Soni Sir,
Honorable vice chancellor of Swarnim Gujarat sports
University-Gandhinagar. To judge all the contestants
Ms. Sneha Majumder-Sports Nutritionist & A Research Scholar from Sports Authority of India-
Gandhinagar came as a second judge along with Dr.
Nishita Baxi.
During the competition Honorable vice chancellor
shri Dr. Jatin Soni Sir gave his valuable speech to all
the participants and to all the students of MPEd.
After that session, Ms. Sneha gave her lecture on
“Health, Hygiene, Sanitation and cooking methods”.
All the students gave very much keen interest to the topic.
After end of the preparation, all the participants prepared and presented all the recipes done by
them, then the judges Dr. Nishita Baxi & Ms. Sneha Majumder judged one by one all the recipes
including the taste, flavor of the recipes, presentation skills and hygiene maintained during the
recipe preparation. After all the observation, both the judges were decided to give 1st prize to
the 2nd group among the 3 groups. Who were the students of department of advance training and
coaching, because according to the marking skill they presented and marked so well by all their
efforts. So, at the end of the competition.
The prize distribution was done by Ms. Sneha and gave the prizes to all the winners. At the end
of the competition vote of thanks were given by Dr. Nishita Baxi and She also thanks to Shri Dr.
Jatin H. Soni Sir Honorable vice chancellor of Swarnim Gujarat sports university- Gandhinagar
for providing constant great support and for conducting this sports nutrition cooking competition.
