The Annual Techno-Cultural Fest of “SKIT Jaipur”

Swami Keshvanand Institute of Technology, Management & Gramothan, Jaipur aims at making dynamic professionals by providing a box full of

opportunities to develop integrated personalities and greater competitive spirit. The Annual College Fest PRAVAH is a culmination of this humble

aspiration. PRAVAH essays the true spirit of SKIT and symbolizes the creativity of the young minds. This prolific extravaganza is being organized

annually since the inception of Institute and has completed 18 glorious years of celebrating creativity, vigour and aesthetics in the field of Sports,

Technical, Non-Technical, Cultural and Social events. Over one hundred events assorted under the above mentioned areas, PRAVAH hosts several

intra and inter collegiate competitions.

PRAVAH is one of the biggest and most diverse gatherings of its kind in the whole Jaipur, providing a broad platform for college participants to

outcast their talents and establish their supremacy on a wide level.

Continuing with the same legacy, PRAVAH 2018 comprised a series of technical, cultural and sports events which stimulated fun, amusement

and left everybody mesmerized. There were 117 events in total including 7 cultural events, 2 literary events, 74 Non-technical events, 2 Social

events and 31 Technical events.

The Annual function of the Institute was celebrated on the most recent day of the event “PRAVAH-2018” with incredible magnificence and show.

Inaugural Ceremony

The inaugural ceremony of the 18th edition of the annual techno cultural fest of SKIT “PRAVAH 2018” was on 21th February 2018 (9:00

AM) at Gyan Mandir Auditorium. The function began on a bright note with the welcoming of the guests and the lighting of the lamp,

followed by Saraswati-Vandana. Brig. (Dr.) S. S. Pabla, President, Bhartiya Skill Development University, Jaipur, was the chief guest and

Dr. R. L. Raina, Vice Chancellor, JKLU, Jaipur was the Presiding Guest in this Inaugural event. The guests were offered a floral welcome




and were honored with a shawl and memento. The program was presided over by the Chairman SKIT, Shri Surja Ram Meel, who declared

the fest open. He further encouraged, appreciated and motivated the innovative skills of the students. The Chief Guest for the occasion

Brig. (Dr.) S. S. Pabla, President, Bhartiya Skill Development University, Jaipur expressed her pleasure in being a part of the program. He

emphasized on the spirit of participation, no matter whether one wins or loses. The Presiding Guest Dr. R. L. Raina, Vice Chancellor,

JKLU, Jaipur highlighted the importance of Techno-Cultural college fest in educational institutes and urged the students to use this platform

to enhance their creativity. The cultural performances of the inaugural session were an utter treat, as the Performance by students of Spic

Macay club, Band Performance by REVERB group and Lavni Dance Performance mesmerized everyone. The performances earned praise

from everyone present in the auditorium. This wrapped up what had been a fantastic opening day of the mega fest. The vote of thanks was

delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Ramesh Kumar Pachar, Principal, SKIT. He motivated organizers, participants and students set new benchmarks.

Major events of PRAVAH 2018

1. Project EXPO- This was an intra college project competition. Some Innovative projects, ideas, models were displayed in this event by

various student teams from different Engineering departments, MBA and Pharmacy Department. The best project was awarded with cash prize

and certificate.

2. Kavyanjali (Dhara Abhivyakti ki):- An inter college Poetry competition

Date: 23 Feb 2020, 10AM-12PM in Gyan Mandir Auditorium.

Guest of honor: 1. “Parth Naveen (Hasya Kavi)” (Famous poet and Tv show Waah Waah kya Baat hai Fame) and

2. Ajay Sharma Alaukik (Veer Ras Kavi) (Performed in various IIT’s, NIT’s and many other educational institutes)

Seven participants from different institutes participated in the event and presented their beautiful poetries. 15-20 minutes was given for each

participant. It was a zestful event as the poets made the event so enjoyable with their comic poems and the expressions of recital. Guest poets Sh.

Parth Naveen and Sh. Ajay Sharma Alaukik also recited their poetries. With the witty and satirical poetries the audience and literature lovers burst

out laughing as well as were given a message well. Their poetries were full of entertainment that made the poetic atmosphere even more enjoyable

especially for the young audience.

4. Thirak: An Inter College Dance Competition

“Dancing is creating a sculpture that is visible only for a moment” – ErolOzan

An Inter College Dance Competition “Thirak” was organized during PRAVAH. This event included three different categories: Solo dance,

Group dance and Duet. The competition began with great zest and excitement. The participants dressed in colourful costumes, twirled

around and set the stage on fire with their thrilling performance. The vivacious dances enthralled the audience with their energetic

performance.

Invited Celebrity: Sreerama Chandra (Bollywood playback singer)

During PRAVAH 2018 a celebrity night was organised on second day evening with a famous bollywood playback singer Sreerama Chandra. He

is an amazing playback singer and an extraordinary human being. is a professional singer, from Hyderabad who debuted his playback career in

the Telugu film industry. Sreeram won the fifth season of music reality show Indian Idol 5 in 2010. Sreerama won the prestigious Lata

Mangeshkar Award from Andhra Pradesh Government. He won the Indian Idol 5 contest on 15 August 2010. The audience was thoroughly

enthralled by his mesmerizing performance. With his broad vocal range and versatility of famous Bollywood songs, he swayed the hearts of

audience. It was an enjoyable musical evening with such an exemplary musician.

The Annual Day Celebration

The annual function of the Institute was started at 5:30 PM in OAT, Main Block on 24th Feb 2020. Shri OP Galhotra, Director General of Police,

Rajasthan, was the esteemed Chief Guest and Prof. Rahul Banerjee, Director LNMIIT, Jaipur was the Presiding Guest for the Event. The

event started at 5 pm with the lamp light ceremony by all the dignitaries which was followed by Saraswati Vandana. The Chief Guest and Presiding

Guest of the function were offered a flower welcome and were respected with a shawl and memento by Sh. Raja Ram Meel (Patron, SKIT), Sh.

Surja Ram Meel (Chairman, SKIT), Sh. Anil Bafna (Vice Chairman, SKIT) and Sh. Jaipal Meel (Director, SKIT). After the welcome address by

Shri. Raja Ram Meel (Patron, SKIT), The Annual Progress Report of the Institute was presented by Prof. (Dr.) S. L. Surana, Director Academics,

SKIT. In his speech, Prof. (Dr.) S. L. Surana highlighted the achievements of the Institute, students and faculty members during the last academic

year. He also motivated the students and staff members for do better in future. Chief guest Sh. OP Galhotra congratulated the Institute for imparting

quality education at par with best educational institutions in the state. He also emphasised how the college had lived up to the expectations of

Society. At this moment presiding guest Prof. Rahul Banerjee also blessed the function and enlightens needs of spirituality in today’s era. After

blessing from our guests meritorious students and faculty members were honoured for establishing milestones in fields like academic, cultural,

sports and co-curricular activities. After the formal functions, Cultural program was diligently organized. The audience enjoy every item of the

programme with a great fun. The event concluded with the vote of thanks, given by Prof. (Dr.) S.K Calla, Director (D&W). He acknowledged the

efforts of the students, faculty members and supporting staff and thanked the esteemed guests for their precious time and presence. The annual

function was followed by dinner to all the guest, staff members and students.

ANNUAL PROGRESS REPORT (2017-18)

Chief Guest: Shri O. P. Galhotra, Director General of Police, Rajasthan

Presiding Guest: Prof. Rahul Banerjee, Director LNMIIT, Jaipur.

1. This year RTU to which our Institute is affiliated ranked all the technical institutes on the basis of Quality Index Value. Our Institute was

ranked 1st scoring Quality Index Value of 819/1000. Other institutes were far behind. The award was received by our Chairman and the

Principal at Kota from the Vice Chancellor on Republic Day.

2. The Government of Rajasthan, Department of Energy awarded 1st prize, “Rajasthan Energy Conservation Award-RECA-2017 to our

Institute on December, 14, 2017.

3. SKIT Toastmaster club won four awards and has been conferred with the highest academic reward i.e. Presidents Distinguished Award.

4. Our Institute discharges its social corporate responsibility year after year by organizing Blood Donation Camps. The Health Minister,

Govt. of Rajasthan awarded continuous Blood Donation Camp Award in a Ceremony held on November 30, 2017 at JMA Auditorium,

SMS Jaipur.

5. The Honorable Governor of Goa awarded, “Best Institute Award for Outstanding Placement Record in Rajasthan” in the National

Education Summit 2017 held at Goa.

6. The Institute received Best Promising Engineering Institute of India Award nominated by Dainik Jagaran Group.

7. Social Corporate Responsibility-

The Institute has donated fully equipped a.c. mobile hospital van costing Rs. 15.00 lacks to Neerog NGO to work in villages.




The Institute has adopted two villages and two schools where our faculty and students regularly visit and provide necessary help.

This year about 50 activities related to SCR were organized.

In the Institute an open gymnasium has been established where anyone from the neighborhood can come and use the facility free of

charge.

8. Greater Focus on Research

This year two more research centres in the areas of Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering

have been established.

Twelve faculty members earned Ph. D. Qualifications from reputed institutions.

133 research papers in National and International journals have been published by our faculty and students. 108 research papers were

contributed in various conferences. Two books have also been published by the faculty.

Nine faculty members received awards from research organizations and industries for best research papers and research contributions.

Two International conferences, Four National conferences, Four National Workshops, Six National seminars were conducted by

various departments.

The International Workshop on Leadership and Management for senior executives was organized in collaboration with AICTE

9. At national level five projects developed by our students won prizes at various technical contests. Students have also made hardware and

software projects in collaboration with leading industries.

10. We give equal importance to games and sports.

Two new tennis courts have been created




In inter-college tournaments our students won fourteen Championships and remain runner-up in 7 events

3 Girls represented RTU team in West Zone Volley Ball Tournament

2 Boys represented RTU team in West Zone Table Tennis Tournament.

11. Placements

During 2017-18, 392 students have already been placed in various multinational and national companies.

Two students have turned into entrepreneurs and started their own companies.

12. During this financial year we received

AICTE/MHRD/DST grants amounting to more than Rs. 36.0 lacks under various schemes.
