Growth Aspects

The demand for milk is expected to be 180 million tons by2020. To achieve this demand, annual growth rate in milkproduction has to be increased from the present 2.5 % to5%.

The growth of biogas or biofuel industry is triggered as a

result of the growing energy needs of our country. Thedemand for electricity is supposed to grow at a rate of 4.2-9% per year. In this case electricity from biogas will proveto be useful

The need for a low cost fuel due to rising price of LPG.

In a country where tourism forms the financial back bone,we find Farm Tourism a great idea.

The growing importance of Organic Farming in the presenttime creates opportunity in the organic fertilizer market.

Waste Management Initiative

Svasya has a waste management initiative toclean our communities and keep it healthy.These initiatives are to begin with secondphase of development.

Organic wastes from the village will becollected and used for production of biogasand fertilizers.

We will also be giving benefits to householdswho will support our initiative by giving themdiscounts on our products.

Business Development

We will be expanding our plan in three phases: The first phase will begin with a single farm and in

this phase we will be aiming at promoting our milk andits products in the market.

The second phase commences after development of atleast 20 farms and we will be indulging in CBGbusiness in this stage and we will be extending ourportfolio of products.

The third phase will begin after establishment of 50farms. We will enter into the farm tourism sector andwill also commence producing electricity from biogas.

RURAL MARKETING

In the initial stage, we will be concentrating on

the local market only. We are having an

unfulfilled demand in the rural area. We think

the best way to find buyers in the rural area is

by remaining their neighborhood farm. We

will be trying to maintain a personal contact

with the rural customer through our milkbooths. Only after anchoring in rural markets

do we venture into urban markets.

Facts

The setup cost of a biogas plant of any capacitycan be received back within 6-7 months ,if fullyutilized.

The daily manure from a single cow can produceabout 3kW of electricity which is capable oflighting a 100 W bulb for an whole day.

A farm of 1000 cows can satisfy the energy need

of 300 households in form of electricity andalmost 25,000 households in form of fuelrequirements.
