Board used to display outstanding students’ works

Classroom library with labeled basket organized in genres and topics. There are colored dot on books to identify students’ level for independent reading. Students are to choose a book, complete assignment taking from folder with same color as the dot on their book.

Word Wall that can be used to help children spell and read high frequency words, students will be able to use

them in their writing as well

Teacher directed center where teacher meet with small group of students. Reading strategies are written on the poster on the wall.

This the writing center with the supplies needed by students.; it can be used by group of four.

Listening center gives a student an opportunity to hear a story over and over while following along allowing him/her to develop

fluency.

Labeled storage boxes for literacy centers activities (Ex: sight words to build sentences, word and pictures to match, beginning sound match, ABC puzzle, et.).

Plan for student management and individual and group motivation and goal setting

•Teacher model using centers with students before having them work individually or in group•Rules and consequences are established on effective use of each center.•Illustrated posters are placed to remind students of procedures and rules to be used at centers.•Students get feedback regularly from teacher for work completed at centers and for the way they use it.
