Homestay Accommodation (Eastbourne and Lewes)

Homestay accommodation with meals is

ideal if you wish to enjoy home comforts

and would like to take every opportunity

to practise conversational English. Your

meals are included in the price you pay. You

will normally eat with your host and share

the common living areas with them. Our

their home and make you feel part of their

household, encouraging you and supporting

you throughout your studies.

Homestay accommodation with meals

includes:

Private bedroom with access to a quiet

study area

Laundry facilities provided at least once a

week

Household bills (excluding telephone)

Breakfast and evening meals on weekdays

and breakfast, a small lunch and evening

meals at the weekends

The British Council Accreditation Scheme

states that no more than four students may

be accommodated with a homestay provider.

Please note that unless we are advised in

writing in advance, there will be a maximum

of two students sharing a bedroom for

students taking short stay and summer group

programmes at our Eastbourne campus.

Residential accommodationSussex Downs College offers three different

types of residential accommodation:

residential accommodation with meals,

residential accommodation on a self-catering

basis and the on-campus residence, Caburn

House.

Residential accommodation with meals

Residential accommodation describes

accommodation where more than four

provide me with good food and a good

study environment. They really care

about me and they are just like my second

parents in the UK. I normally eat dinner

with them and they always try to involve

me in the conversation, which helps me

to increase my confidence and feel like

part of the family. Living in a homestay

“I am passionate about Music so Sussex

Downs College was the perfect choice for

me. The quality of teaching and support I

received were excellent. The teachers were

friendly, professional and respectful. They

were always helpful and encouraging. I

spent a lot of time with music students,

The East Sussex Academy of Music (ESAM)
