Decide what you need for a jungle trip?

• The TV show Survival!

• It`s sending a group of people to the island of Bedaira(Privately owned Bedarra Island is in the heart of the Family Islands National Park, off the Queensland coast in Australia.)Each person should try to survive for seventy two hours without any help.

• Bedaira is a small island covered in tropical rainforest. It`s completely uninhabited and can only be reached by helicopter.

• The average daytime temperature is 40 degrees. At night the temperature is a little cooler.

• It usually rains heavily in the late afternoon,and during the night.

• There are many streams,rivers and small lakes.There are plenty of fish in the rivers,but there are also some dangerous crocodiles.

• There are plenty of coconut trees and other fruit.

• The island is home to thousands of different types of insects(mosquitoes)plus spiders and snakes which can be a problem at night.

• You are allowed to take a survival pack containing twelve items.Work in pairs and choose the items you would like to take with you.

A person is sharing his choice… LISTEN!

• Well from this list there are one or two things that we can throw out straightaway.Wedefinitely don`t need them.You don`t need a compass,because you are not going to travel very far.Digital camera no.Mirror no.Rope no.And mobile telephone,,,,it`s no good,youwon`t get a signal and you don`t need an umbrella you are not in the middle of LondonYouare in a tropical rainforest..So also you don`t need sunscreen or sunglasses.It`s hot and i t`shumid.But there is not direct sunlight.Because of all the trees and the vegetation…It will be pretty dark.Pencil and paper not necessary unless you want to write a shopping list.Things you need well number one.The most important thing to survive is water.You can take bottled water that`s ok.But it won`t be enough.So number two is water purification tablets…You have got streams and rivers.But have got to be careful…So as well as that,youwill have to eat.The best thing to take is energy bars.Not very exciting but they will keep you alive for three days.There are coconut and fruit as well if you need them.Leave the fishing rod at home,it`s too dangerous with all the crocodiles.The biggest problems come at night.You have got insects and snakes and all kind of things,so you must have a tent to sleep in,and the fire to keep the animals away…And for a fire you need matches-Idon`tthing a magnifying glass is going to help you-and in case the fire goes out,a torch,withplenty of batteries.Also take some insect repellent-those mosquitoes can be pretty nasty-and you always want a good knife,there are hundred reasons why you will need it.So how many is that?That is 9…Well,I`d say also you need somethings to make yourself feel human.It`s hot,it`s wet and it can be pretty tough .So it`s a good idea to take some clean clothes a toothbrush and some toilet paper.You are not absolutely necessary ,but you will feel a whole lot better if you have them.
