VILLAGE VOICES Artist talk and readings, 3.30pm Commissioned by City of Sydney public art program, Astra Howard’s interactive artwork shares local stories, prompting audiences to think about diverse issues that affect and inspire them. “Action research performer”, Astra Howard, presents varied art interventions across Double Take. Watch and hear stories by locals, write your own or contemplate your favourite neighbourhood.

Experience all there is to Love in Surry Hills... Surry Hills Festival returns on Saturday 23 September for a fabulous spring celebration across Ward Park, Devonshire Street, Shannon Reserve, Crown Street, laneways, pop up creative spaces, and everything in between.
This year’s program introduces Double Take. Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre in partnership with Surry Hills Creative Precinct and local creatives, Esem Projects, have been working with artists to overlay Devonshire Street and surrounds with a curated trail of projections and art - transforming the heart of Surry Hills into a plethora of creative adventure.
Explore the area’s famed food, art and design scenes. Take advantage of all the free events and creativity on offer and get a glimpse of what makes Surry Hills tick.
Bring along family and friends on Saturday 23 September. Join a lantern-making workshop and, as the sun goes down, explore works by over 60 projection, installation and performance artists as part of Double Take.
Double Take runs 23 September to 15 October with projection and lighting installations until 10pm daily.
