Most of the energy being funneled into the grid is from sources connected to polluting fossil fuel resources — i.e. dirty energy. But some of the energy comes from a small but growing number of generators associated with clean renewable sources, which contribute pure, clean energy.

As the demand for electricity from renewable sources increases,more of the clean energy goes into the grid, and less of the dirty energy from fossil fuel sources is needed.
