Parent Involvement on the Rise

We now have a Parent Facilitator in every school

Orientation and training is provided to everyParent Facilitator

This year, we are organizing 2 parent assembliesinstead of 1

Since July 1, I have personally attended more

than 100 community events, public meetings,etc.

We are also offering additional trainings andworkshops for parents and Parent Facilitators

Myth: The District has failed in its efforts to successfully submitschool improvement applications to the State Education

Department.

Fact: The District has been very successful in applying for SIG

funding despite the highly competitive nature of this

program. (In fact, only 15 may be awarded outside New York

City this year.)
