Levator ani Coccygeus
Levator ani has two parts : pubococcygeus and ileococcygeus.. Pubococcygeus part of the levator ani muscle forms a sling and gives support to vagina..
PERINEAL BODY :Fibromuscular structure located between the anus and the lower vagina.. Maintains integrity of pelvic floor.. Muscles inserted :1.2. 3. 4. 5. 6.
Bulbospongiosus (2) Superficial transverse perinei (2) Deep transverse perinei (2) Levator ani (2) Sphincter ani externus (1) Longitudinal muscle coat of anus (1)
UROGENITAL DIAPHRAGM :

Forms the external sphincter of urethra.. Inferior fibres of the muscle supports the vagina by attaching to its walls..
PASSIVE PRIMARY SUPPORTS:

THE LIGAMENTS :
ROUND LIGAMENT :Fibromuscular band.. From the lateral cornu of the uterus.. Runs forwards and lateral till it reaches deep inguinal ring.. Inguinal canal.. Fuses with subcutaneous labium majora.. Anterior pull to the uterus

BROAD LIGAMENT :
Attaches the uterus to the lateral pelvic walls.. Medially and inferiorly., attached to the lateral border of the uterus.. Upper border is free.. Subdivisions :1.
