Supporting People Floating Support Directory
This directory has been developed for agencies wishing to make referrals to organisations offering floating support services, or for individuals who feel they would benefit from floating support.
Floating Support is assistance provided in a person’s own home by a support worker. These services can be provided to people regardless of where they live and their aim is to help people maintain their independence in their own homes. The range of services offered can include those listed below, although each service is tailored to the needs of the individual:
• Advice on housing rights and responsibilities• Welfare rights advice• Information on local facilities• Help with claiming benefits, budgeting, paying bills and debts• Learning to plan meals, shop and cook• Networking with specialist advice and support agencies to meet individual needs• Help with completing forms and tackling red tape• Advocacy• Befriending and emotional support - someone to talk to
The directory is classified by Health and Social Care Trusts, NIHE District Office areas and by Client Population.
The range of services is ordered alphabetically by the providing organisation.
If you have any queries regarding this directory or the Supporting People programme you can email us at [email protected] or contact us on 028 9031 8427.
